So what are Xray working on, for another company?

I missed getting the last column out on time simply because there was no time for me to get into the office behind the computer. It has been constantly busy but the last few months outdid everything that we experienced before. Not only did the summer season start – which means that most of the time we are out of the factory at races all around the world – but there was also one very special project that I have been working on for 8 years for another company and another brand name and a completely different product line but still within the RC model racing cars hobby I love and now this project is in the final stage when everything is being finished up. After so many years I needed to put all the time and attention to get the project to the final stage no matter what. This project has taken a lot of my time in the last few years, as well a lot of resources invested from many people involved in this project and at some times it seemed that we would fail on this project.

we know thay have been testing elec off road, for them selves or this project?

Would seem strange that Xray would develop a car for someone else, in the column Hudy also talks about the cost of continuing with the project etc so I would guess that they will have something more to do with the project to recoup costs. But an Xray off road buggy would be awesome, let's hope this is it.

Now that would make more sense, can't see why that would take 8 years to develop though?

They didn't have right machinery till recently - they weren't happy with some issues encountered. Now got same machines as Novarossi just newer versions.

I know a few UK ex Factory team guys that tested the Xray engine a while back.. and they really hated them, Could not keep a tune and would have problems left right and centre.. just hope they nail it this time!

Many drivers across europe tested the new Hudy/Xray engines in the last years.
As far as I heard there had been many different problems because they started completly from scratch and did not copy anthing from any other engine manufacturer.

Common problems were durability and power. The last thing I heard was that they were trying to increase the runtime.
They should now have enough feedback from their testdrivers to announce/produce them in the near future.

Funny thing, a eninge test driver I know had like 10 different engines for testing available.

All true. They indeed managed to get good power but suffered with bad mileage - so have to work on that.

Noticed this further down...

"EC 1/10 electric buggy Warm-up, Austria – Just after the week I returned to Austria for the 1/10 electric buggy warm-up for EC, and I spent some time in both 2WD and 4WD. There is not much to tell…yet. "
