Which shock oil and piston head for astro for Losi 22?
Last night it was suggested to me that I change from the stndard build Losi 22 shock oil (27.5wt) and potentially the shock piston head to drive on astro - what would people recommend?
And who makes the best shock oil? Thanks |
What to run in your shocks also depends a little on your overall set-up and whether you are running the car in mid or rear motor format.
I would agree that you may want to change from the kit set-up if running on astro and found that a #55 piston with blue spring and 35wt oil on the front and #54 piston with yellow spring (kit) and 27.5wt (bumpy track) or 30wt (smooth track) oil worked well on a mid or rear motor layout. As for oil, the only thing I would recommend is that you stick with the same make as oil between manufacturers seems to vary. I have always liked the Losi oil as it's coloured which makes it easy to identify what your running. |

Blue Front Springs Yellow Rear Springs I run 30wt all round Nick Tapered pistons - 5 hole By far the biggest improvement was adding the low friction o rings for the shocks- They feel like silk - testing on sunday. I dont think you can go far wrong if you stick to the previous post |
