Front Wishbones Rat Monkey X2c X2

Guys,

Can anyone tell me if the front wishbones on these cars are all the same length?

I am running a Madrat with a Team C Conversion so basically a monkey, but the front looks so wide when compared to other cars i.e Cougar 22 etc, almost an inch wider. I am only the only person in my club to race an Ansmann so have nothing to compare against.

I have checked the Part Numbers and there seems to be a few.

Thanks in advance
Stevie G.....

The front arms on all the 2wd cars are the same mould. Sometimes though they are different material.

But it should be the same width as the Losi 22 if its wider then you may have the truck arms on. They are about 1.5cm wider each side.

Thanks Guys,

My fronts are 79mm, there about 2cm wider when compared to other models at the club.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds about right to me - the car is too wide at the front to meet the BRCA rules so when you put the standard front up against cars that do meet the requirements the front should be a fair bit wider.

When I put a pair of the B4 steering hubs and stub axles on mine it definitely made the front considerably narrower - fits in the box beautifully now!

Thanks Dave, I was thinking that the car would be too wide to meet BRCA Regs, also I was thinking that If I used B4 hubs and axles that would work a treat. I guess I will have to use the wheels also as they contain the bearings.

I guess by having a narrow front end the car would turn quicker but not so stable on rough ground.

Get some of the narrow alloy hexes and grind the front stub axles down to the nut width and it will fit in the box no problem.

Plastic hexes and grinding down the axles work. My x2c with mad rat front wish bones fits inside the BRCA box

Looks like you have carried the X6 virus over with you too, get back in your own section or purchase a Rat!

I have loads of B4 spares you are welcome to experiment with before you make a purchase. StevieG
I nearly managed to build a whole new car from spares. I would have finished it if I hadn't been interrupted by the X6.
;)

You can also use RB5 WC front axles, these let you keep the standard wheels and adjust the width to suit.

Thanks Phil, I will certainly like to take you up on that offer.

Cheers

I have just seen these on Google images, that looks an easier option all round.

Could find a UK retailer though.

JE spares will have them

The part no is UM569, you could try Kev Lee at inside line for them. You will also need two 1mm thick 5mm ID washers, if you use the 1mm washers on the outside and the included 2mm washers inside the hub the car is almost exactly on the width limit.

How come everyone seems to say that the car is too wide:confused:
My Monkey is 250mm at front. It says in manual and i also measured it and the BRCA rules say 250 is the max width so mine is fine. I had a look in the BRCA book i got so if we do a regional them i`m ok.

If you do think its too wide then i have a cheap(like free) option to fix. Just drill another hole 5mm further in on the wishbone where the hub carrier sits as theres loads of space. Job done

If you go to a regional they will measure your car by putting it in a box 250mm wide and if it rubs the side it is too wide, and i can assure you a standard monkey/rat/x2c etc will not fit at the front. I think some of the other countries run 255mm hence the extra width.
