Best pinions?
I need to get a new set of pinions i am thinking of getting the shumacer hard alloy range are they any good? or can someone recomend anything better please?
|
If it's for Off-Road you don't really want to be using alloy. They tend to get torn up with grit and sand quite easily.
The steel pinion range from RW is what I use and i have some that are over 10 years old and still as good as new! RW Pinions :) |
Yeah didnt think of that cheers will get some of those of you next week then
|
RW Racing pinions for sure.
Some of mine are 20+ years old, and still run like new. I've seen people open new schumacher ali pinions, and strip the thread before they have even run it. I'd avoid ali for this reason, plus the weight saving isn't really critical. |
+1 RW pinions. I used an alloy one once.... and that was it, just once!!
MB models have just had a big stock of them in as I bought a couple on friday and they arrived this morning. Give them a ring and they'll sort you out. |
RW everytime

With most post on any 'Whats Best' subject we all post what we have and use !
I personally have had no problem with Schumacher Hard Alloy Pinions in Off Road, use them in my 2wd and 4wd, also used them in my Touring cars, Mardaves, Mini's etc etc You make a choice, spend your money, but keep it clean, that's my only advice |
Rw all the way ive had mine since 1989 and there still good
|
Another very enthusiastic  for RW here. Best quality pinions I have ever used for both gear form and concentricity.
