B4 spring help please
May be a bit of a funny q but how to tell the difference between silver and gray springs on the rear of a b4.i bought it second hand some months ago and it has fitted i think 1 of each and i have a spare set which i think is also 1 of each.there is only a very slight difference in colour.1 being slightly shinier than the other.but very slight or do i have 2 sets of silver? so are there considerable diff between silver and gray?
|
There is silver and grey silver are the softer of the two and should be shinier
|
should be a noticible difference between the two.silver springs are more a natural finish on the springs(actually dont think there is any paint on it)where the grey has a matt paint like finish on it
|
yes i think i can just about see the difference between them.(after asking my 3 wives and 2 girlfriends is hard to argue with:wub.lol)very hard tho and it was 1 of each on the car. this has put a end to why the car was pulling up (braking slightly) to 1 side on a straight.always thought i had 2 sets of silver as the gray dont come in the packs, but when i had a look at the set up sheets found that you can also get grays that are slightly harder.

I didn't know about grey ones either, that'll explain why they are not shiny, I hope I haven't mixed them up, I'll check later.
Greys are harder than silvers, is that correct? |
yes the grays are 2.33 and the silvers are 2.10. its very hard to see the difference.the only way is that the gray ones are a sort of matt.also if you slightly pinch them between your finger and thumb you can ever so feel slight softer in the silvers.i have tried to take a picture but even then you can not see the difference
