losi 22 steering catching with savox 1251

Hi hope someone can help. Just fitted a savox 1251 mini sever in my loss 22, I have shimmed it with a 2 and 1 in each side but it catches slightly and seems to give excellent steering lock on 1 side and limited on the other.

I note there is a dice about trying different ball and sockets, any help would be useful please.

thanks

This was posted not to long ago on the TLRacing blog. http://www.petitrc.com/setup/losi/se...ups/index.html

The spektrom servo has the same problem as the savox.

Dremmel the upper bulkhead to clear.

First, remove the shims - they're not needed with the savox servos (regardless what the manual may say). I have them in both of my cars, and neither needed shimming, and actually it increases the amount of binding.
Second, either use captured ends (juane noted above, LOSA6017) instead of ballcups - or identify exactly where it might be "catching" on the front bulkhead, and use a hobbyknife or dremel and remove the small bit of material to gain needed clearance. I did it to both of my cars, and it clears easily with a little modding.

return the 1251 and get a full bodied savox. I toasted the gears on my 1251 after only a few races... Installed the Savox SC-1258TG Standard Digital "High Speed" Titanium Gear Servo and have never looked back :)
