Reading the manual for my Castle Creations systems they tell you not to, I can lose the extra wire somewhere if necessary but given the choice i'd rather shorten them and keep it tidy.

These are the 2 systems i'm currently trying to install:

Should be fine, always try and keep wires as short as possible, minimise powers loss, and keeps out the nesting birds!!

just a thought,

as the Castle Creations and the ones you link to are 'sensorless' would it be best to leave the wires as they are as they could be a 'tuned' length to suit the 'sensorless' esc?

I persoannly leave them as they are but thats because i`m lazy.lol. But shortening the main three motor wires is fine, but dont shorten any sensor wires , just buy a shorter one. Then you got a spare if it breaks or need your long one back again.
