Newbie needing a lipo set up.

Hi i am a sort of beginner rc and have only realy bashed around my rc's starting out in racing now and so i need a lipo set up as i have only used NiMH power packs up to now.

So i am in need of a lipo fast charger AC + DC with a built in balancer to keep things simple and safe.
Lipo case.
And a lipo stick pack. Not sure what sort of capacity i need for it to last a whole race an needs to be brca legal.

Bit of a budget and so need to keep costs low.
Am i right in saying that dean connectors are most popular for lipos?

Any help and suggestions given will be much appreciated.

Core UAC-50 for the charger, i was recommended that (by the forum) does all i need it to and more.

Not sure about the battery capacity/spec as i don't know what you are running, 2wd/4wd/motor. As the higher load (unsurprisingly) means better (or at least, higher spec) batteries are needed.

Bit of a daft question, but will your ESC take LiPos and does it have a cut off?

Lipo Setup

Unless you intend to race at BRCA sanctioned events you don't need BRCA legal Lipo's

If you are on a tight budget HobbyKing Turnigy Nano-Tech batteries are good value Turnigy nano-tech 5600mah 2S2P 50~100C Hardcase Lipo Pack ~$35

They also do IMax B6 AC charger ~$40

Plus Shipping takes about 2-3 weeks

Can't go wrong with deans connectors - When using Deans plugs for battery to speed controller connections, always use the Female half on the battery, to reduce the chance of short-circuits.

When using Deans plugs for speed controller to motor connections, use the Female half on the speed controller.

personally i would look at vapextech lipos, good cells cheap and brca approved
