Durga - Brushless Gear Ratio Advice
Hi
Just looking for a bit of advice with regards to Gear ratios for my Durga. I am awaiting delivery of a Mamba Max 6900 Brushless combo but am a bit green when it comes to working out gear ratios. I, like everyone else wants a bit of punch off the line but also as much top end speed as possible . . . without toasting the motor or gears. Help! |
Your best bet for gear ratio is to stick with the 19T pinion and the stock 91T spur gear. I myself run the mamba 6900 in the Durga and have gotten the best results with the ratio i mentioned. I hope this helps and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. A.J.:D

Cheers A.J.
Much appreciated. I will install the 19t when the motor arrives. I have pinions from 17t through 23t, so the 19t sounds like a good compromise.:cool: |
Hi A.J.
Just one more thing. Do you run your Speedo on it`s standard settings or have you tinkered to get best speed / control balance? Would be interested to know. Cheers:confused: |
Sorry for the late reply. With regards to the settings for the Mamba speed control it's all about personal preference i would say when it comes to settings. Start off with the default settings and work from there and just make adjustments to what feels best for you. The best thing about the mamba speed control is that you can have fun with it and try out a number of different settings. If you have any other questions about it when you get it feel free to shoot me a message.:D

Thanks again A.J.
I just hope i have the talent to control it!! |
i used to run a 6.5turn brushless on 17/96t spur from a 501x.
the spur will go in with a bit of carefull dremeling and all you have to do is spacer up the motor mount a tiny smidge .5mm max just to clear the spur. mine ran fine at southport indoor gp and at batley indoor gp with this set up |
