Losi 22 build help - servo centre-ing
 

Hi guys,

I'm back to rc cars after a 20yr gap so please be gentle.

I'm at the last stages of building the rolling the chassi and have suddenly thought I need to centralise the steering servo. However I've already built the front end of the car.

What's the best / easiest way to get the servo out? Is it a case of completely dismatling the front end? I've using a standard size Savox servo and any advice would be welcome.

Front end off chap, easiest way and only 6 screws,

the 2 on the front bumper
2 on the front arm mounting block on the bottom
then the 2 on the top of the bulkhead on top of the servo mounts

Then the front end comes off leaving the servo attached to the chassis,
Centralize and re-fit, takes about 5 minutes

Job don, lol

Realize that this car is designed and built to be "modular," in the sense that you don't have to completely disassemble the whole car (or end of the car) to get at something - and thus, like knighthawk said, you can just take off the whole front end to access the servo.

or unbolt the bottom 4 screws and the top 2 that hold the servo mounts in, they slide it out the back, you'll need to flex the upper bulkhead just a bit as its keyed into the top of the servo mounts. Both ways work depending on your preferance. Hopefully you learned your lesson:p

Another question if I may. I have a Savox servo and a spektrum micro receiver and an MRT PTX.

Is there any technical issue if I mount the PTX and the Rx directly on top of the servo to save space? With a Phat bodies Rocco shell it will fit.

Should be fine .. I often run an mrt pt (and an amb) on top of a servo, very often a savox.
Never had a problem.

At the track most systems have a signal strength indicator so you can check all is ok.

Yes as Pip mentioned, thats where i run my PT.
The RX i run on the chassis next to the esc.
standard shell has no spare room but if you using the shell mentioned theres loads of room.
We can check the PT stength easily when you run it.........:D
