Unofficial poll, what to do if it's raining

Nothing official, just want to get peoples feelings should the weather stay as it is.

I guess the bottom line is race somehow, im not bothered either way, of to buy tyres from Paul now for either eventuality.

Cheers

I voted indoors, but a nice flowing track please (and I am no fan of indoor buggy racing!!)

Its an outdoor season people!!!

Ok so We have the possibility of rain sunday......

Few things to consider before we cry off indoors, I don't enjoy cleaning a dirty car like most of you before I get flamed!!

1) We have tyres specially designed to run in the wet ( most people have them)
2) Most cars are well sealed with under trays and adding bluetac should be fine
3) This is a feeder series to nationals which runs wet /raining meetings
4) There are guidelines in place how to run a meeting in bad weather from our governing body
5) So come the winter indoor series should we start running outdoors if its dry as that would be inline with a decision to go indoors for our outdoors lol
6) Cobra ran in the rain last year and unless its dangerous for marshelling duty / or accessing the rostrum then getting dirty cars should not be a deciding factor!
7) Our series has different track surfaces , grip levels and features and I see wet weather as a different challenge also not a problem!

Just my two pence worth:thumbsup:

If we had an astro track which is stable under foot or the chance of rain was 50/50 then fair enough lets go out side and run but as it stands now the John Kettley says its rain all day turning heavy for a bit over lunch time bbc weather.

I'd rather be outside than stuck in the hall but would rather be racing than standing under a gazebo hoping the weather calms down.. :bored:

Know what your saying mike, Cobra was on a grass track for the rain last year not our astro ;)

Given that saturday is a nice day forecast, you never know it may sunny sunday :p:woot::woot:

The news from the underground is that it could well be rain free...

Just thought I'd offer a more optimistic view :)

If it's raining but safe to race I think we should stay outside. As Dave said cars are pretty well sealed now (and if not can be with some duct tape).

If the ground is too soft to be able to marshall safely then I think it should be moved inside and not cancelled. As this decision will probably happen on the day, there should be enough people around to make this a quick job.

Don't know where that sits in with the poll options though Craig.

Outdoors all the way

axeman 08-06-2012 03:42 PM

got gt85 outside is hardcore

MORG185 08-06-2012 09:02 PM

i would much prefer to be flicking up grass than indoor racing! but i do not think the weather will be on our side:( so to me the safe option would be indoors, as theres nothing worse than racing cancelled

chris (reg) reardon 08-06-2012 09:54 PM

got to b out side

yep outdoors is the way forward i just read all coments and excluding dcms and i quote " i want to go in doors its cold and wet outside" i know he lost weight and his insulation is a bit thin but being in the nationals and having to race when its pissing down and the puddles of water every were i think it will be fun and a lot more entertaining out doors but if needs be plan b rather than going home will be good xx

plus need practice on grass oswestry next out door on grass so keeping fingers crossed out door all ok:thumbsup:
