30th June- Blean Fete Race Day!

Coming Soon, so stick it in your diary!

Blean Fete, Blean Memorial Ground, School Lane, Blean (CT2 9JA, will get you close enough!)

Please PM me to confirm you will be coming, or fill in the entry sheets when booking in at FORCC over the next 2 Wednesdays-
Name:
2wd/4wd/2wd Trucks:
Frequency:
Bacon Roll: Y/N

Will be run as a normal race day with 3 qualifiers and 3 finals.
Qualifying will start at 10am and finish by 5pm (as the Folk Festival starts at 5.45pm-10.45)
You will be able to drive onto the recreation ground to drop off your kit, but must remove your motor vehicle and park near by (down School Lane).
Please arrive between 8.30am and 9.00am.

Fete starts 12.00-4pm.

Looking to raise funds for hall extension, so make it a family day.

Racing cost £3.50 adults, £2.50 under 16s. (Please add a donation if racing more than one class)

Hoping to have bacon rolls for breakfast £2, cake and soft drinks £1, and cold beer £2.20 per pint! (I guess I must remind that excess drink and rc driving is dangerous! I shall be serving the alcohol under licence).
There will also be other hot and cold food and drink available at the fete and folk festival.

(If you have any cars you don't mind letting fete goers use please bring along, ready to use. May offer goes during our interlude between Qualifying and Finals)

Blean Fete

Firstly, Phil and Dean, great you are coming for some fun racing.
Jumps made yesterday and track laid out tonight.
Thanks to Steve, Mike and Tom for their help.
Steve and Tom tested the track just before dark and all good.
13.5 will be fine, 10.5 maybe, but unlikely to benefit from much faster motors.
Bacon and beer bought and my wife has made some wicked luxury cup cakes for elevensies!
See you in the morning,
Andy

Great day...

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say a BIG thanks to Andy and his team for putting in a lot of hard work to make yesterday great fun and super relaxed....cheers to Alan/ John/Edd for pit space/ comedy/ tool hire & tyres - team effort as usual!
And who can forget the victorious tug of war champions too - my arms still ache from that but beating two wagons worth of firemen is worth the aches! Go team :)
Thanks again to all involved, got a couple of videos uploading to you tube right now will post the link shortly!
Cheers

Nice one on the win lads!

Maybe a new hobby for you lot! Lol

Cheaper than Rc racing and plenty of rope under the stage for you to practice with!

Video coverage and photos are brilliant

Firstly, Craig the footage of the trucks was great and I shall watch it again to count the number of times you rolled on that lap near the end!

Also coverage useful for track design next year. I have saved the jumps, but likely to reduce their heights/gradients and the main one into an extended table top, with felt carpeting to assist the 2 wheel drive boys...

Secondly, the tug of war photos are great. We need to look at them to work on our technique for next year!
Craig, we should get team t-shirts, 'Pure FORCC!'

Good Video

jackeltrader 01-07-2012 01:14 PM

Ha ha good idea Andy - we will have them ready for when we defend the title next year:)
I will sort out the sign writing to add us to the trophy as well!!
Thanks again everyone!!
