modify DF-03 to use DB-01 wheels

Hi Hi,

Has anyone attempt to modify DF-03 to use DB-01 wheels ?

Just curious if it is possible.

the DB-01 wheels are an imperial shaft size, so not sure it could be done, if you got the measurements of the axles I could measure up and see if the DC-01 axles would fit, but I doubt they will.

The important thing is the offset- which is completely different

I bought Hot Bodies D4 wheels for my DF03 - they are the same fitment as DF03 but the same style wheel and offset as the DB01 / Losi type of racing wheels. They simply didn't fit and I don't think there's anything you can do to make them fit.

understood, so do not make recommendations for modification and use the original df03 wheels?.

I did it, but it involves A LOT of customizing.

At the rear, you have to use TRF501X or DB01 UJ, a lot of shims and drill new pivot holes for the hubs in the A-arms or the car will be too wide.

At the front, I ended up using TRF501X C-hubs and castor blocks, TRF501X UJ, I had to make a new alu steering bridge to get correct ackerman and again drill new pivot holes in the A-arms for the castor blocks.

The car is now ready to run (at last). Just waiting for the weather to clear up to give it a shakedown.
