Isnt that the touring car version?

Robocop 03-06-2012 06:36 PM

T 1 tourer comes to mind i think its not the last one they did as the last ones had stood uP rear shocks

touring?

hi, i have a mate who said that...so are the dtmi and t1 different cars? if so, are they then different to the off road version>? many thanks

It's a Predator Streetwise touring car.

Based on the DTM touring car the Streetwise was a cheaper version with carbon fibre parts replaced by grey moulded plastic, such as the rear shock mounts and front wishbone mount. It also included cheap red plastic shocks which is probably why they aren't in the photographs.

Predator DTM is basically the buggy with narrow suspension and a shorter chassis to reduce the wheelbase. The T1 is the DTM with rear shocks mounted vertically on the wishbones, like every other car.

good deal;?

You can fit the 'good parts' to a Streetwise, but to upgrade it to full touring car spec would need shocks, shock mounts, wishbone mount, centre shaft, driveshafts and motor mount clamp, although the ebay car looks like it doesn't have a motor mount at all with it.

If you are planning on converting it into the buggy, the only parts used on both the Streetwise and buggies are small hardware, diff parts and gearbox tops.

If the shocks and shock mounts are included, then to get it running you will need a motor mount and clamp. Any Predator motor mount will do, but later ones will need a bit of modification as they are braced from the shock mount.

Whether you got a good deal at £23 is down to you. As a vintage collector I think £23 is a good price as a base for a restoration, but if I already had had a DTM I would think this car would be a bargain for spares.

t1 upgrades

hi there. i own one of these and fully restored it. i then modified it to x11 technology and is awsome reliable. a mod you should do is the x10 steering system or the xbrace. to mod the drive train system your looking at around 65 quid. x10 steering is around 34 quid from xtreme. an xbrace upgrade kit is around 72 quid.

u'll really need the transmission mod coz the nylon gears are useless.

hope this helps.
