dex210 gearing

what gearing should I run with a trinity 13.5 with a bit of boost? I'm just debating what RW spur to get

Looking for the same answer too.. Going to transplant a 13.5 viper into my 210.

anyone?

Only a guess but I would go with a 23 tooth pinion working up to 25 tooth pinion dependant on the track with kit spur.

It really depends on the track size. Go with the age old idea of gearing to reach top speed at around 2/3rds of longest track section and/or a motor temperature of around 160 Deg C after 5 minutes hard racing.

With a 13.5 motor you probably will want to drop the spur size from the standard 87T kit. Otherwise the motor housing screws will probably not fit into the plate slots.

I would suggest playing around in the range 81 spur with 28-30 pinion. Even then it may be a tight fit.

Or, if you want to push your motor much further back a 79 spur with a 27-29 pinion. Or even a 75 spur with 25-27 pinion

I run a 10.5 with a little timing and use a 24 tooth pinion with kit spur. Seems fine

I'm running 83/26 on a 10.5 with a lot of boost. Runs pretty warm but not insanely hot. I'm figuring 83/28 if it will mesh for my 13.5t but haven't tried it yet.

I run a 6.5t & 24t On kit spare, Thats pretty quick, And nice through the corners.

I run a 10.5 wit 26 pinion kit spur and Tekin RS profile 5.
Just as quick as mod motors but not as easy to drive.
I am trying 7.5 this weekend to see.Andrew any sign of bits ?

I currantly have 87/26 and thats pretty much as big of a pinion you can fit (haven't run it yet), and I noticed the LHS that I ork at has RW spurs in stock so I was debating on which one to get. On my 22 I was running 25/78 without issues (internal ratio of 2.43) so I'm thinking with the dex to start with the 78t spur and going from there. Thanks fo the input everyone

Do you mean F? Or 60 Deg C, or 100 Deg C

FWIW, i aim for 60-80 Deg C........ Running the stock spur and a 25T pinion (10.5T motor)
