Whities in ZX-5 shocks?

I'm sure someone on here has tried my 'whities' in thier ZX-5 shocks, can they confirm that they do fit please?

Thanks,

G

yes G, i ran them in mine last year in the original kit shocks and also in the improved triple cap shocks on the RB5. They were great in both.

Sorry - Missed your original post - Yep, I'm running your 'Whities' in my Triple Cap shocks as well as the original ZX5 shocks.... all good....

Call me stupid and slap my ass....

but what are whities?

jim76 24-04-2008 08:49 PM

stupid. *slap!*

they are o-rings for shocks. are better quality than most kit ones for a smoother action and less leaks.

I have to admit that I wasn´t entirely happy with them in my shocks.:(

I have the caps supplied in the middle arm conversion and the inner diameter was just a little larger than the original ones causing my shocks to leak. They do however feel much softer and have a better finish than the original ones.

Dunno how they fit the SP shocks or the original zx5 shocks.

Just my 2 cents

Caps from the middle arm conversion are the same as RB5 or ZX5-SP.

Yet to try some but must get around to it soon.

Northy recomended soaking them in oil overnight before installing them so that they swell up a little, helps stop the leaks. must admit i had no issue in the lazer, although they did leak a fair bit in the D4.

If these "whities" are first and foremost for US shocks then they will be a 1/8" internal diameter, or 3.2mm - that 0.2mm is a hell of a gap to seal - no wonder they leak in a metric shock like the Lazer and HB.

Ok, never heard you could do that! What type of oil?

jim76 29-05-2008 08:42 AM
