SV2 Rear Shocks
 

Just finished building my SV2 and I am very impressed with this models quality but I seem to be having problems with the rear shocks leaking from the shafts, the front ones I built exactly the same and are perfect.

Anyone had this or know what it could be ???

Can't help with the shocks but Phil is winning with a Shumacher that isn't even bolted together right with only 1 out of 4 screws loosely holding the gear box on and shocks with 2mm of preload difference from left to right.
Once you've sorted it I think there will be no stopping you!
Another reason I'll never make the A! lol

Get yourself some nortech whities o ring for the shocks. Get them from Northy on here or here....

Thanks for the link, so there's issues with the blue stock ones then ???

The shock shafts may have a burr on them causing damage so check just above the thread and also use AE green slime to minimise seal damage.

There are no issues as such, the o rings are designed to be low friction, so it's inevitable that you will get some leakage. I had the same problem with my SX3 and SV2, so on recomendation from a friend, I bought some of the white o rings and it solved the problem. Don't forget to soak them over night in whatever oil you intend to fill your shocks with, also, apply a little oil to the shock shaft threads before pushing it through the body.

As mentioned they are low friction and also when dry they are smaller then after time in contact with oil as they swell and improve sealing.

Well I managed 3rd in the A final Phil but the 6 hole pistons are way to soft and she was skipping around everywhere and was impossible to land nicely off a jump, I have some different ones ordered for next week to give me a bit of damping ;)

Try the 3 hole pistons all round mate, 450 oil front and 350 rear, cut bladders. Car will be sweet.:thumbsup:

I already run cut bladders and the oil mentioned, are these the rounded 3 hole pistons guys U3770 ???

Also are your rear shocks in front or at the back ???
