Geared diff.....

Hi

When I first raced, a long time ago the big thing was changing from a geared differential (or, if you had a Mardave Apache, having no diff!) to the ball diff.
Why is it now going back the other way?
Is one reason that he car suspension has developed and can keep it's wheels on the ground?

With the Brushless Motor's being much more powerful these days, the Ball Diff needs a little more maintenance.

Fitting the Gear Diff takes the rebuilding of the diff out of the maintenance !

But the Gear Diff does change the handling and is not for everyone

Just my Opinion

I was once told by one of the guys at dms the a ball diff is better for wet conditions as some gear diffs can be be sharp but a ball diff is smoother, personally I prefer gear diffs, me and ball diffs don't agree
