old stick packs Nimhs wanted

Got my little boy an old Tamiya Madbull. Unfortunately the battery compartment only takes the old stick types (3 x 2 Sub C 1.2V cell configuration) with Tamiya style connector. None of my Lipo stick packs fit.

Any freebies about would be appreciated

Cheers

I have a load set up as side-by-side, not stick. No idea about the condition. You can have them if you want, you'll have to reconfigure them as sticks though. Must have 5 or 6 packs worth of cells.

You get loads of different Li-Po packs that are the same size as the old type stick packs with the rounded edges.

Orion also do LiPo packs that are shaped to fit where stick packs used to in a moulded chassis, have a look on JE Spares as I am not sure on prices.

Shame though, only a couple of weeks I threw around 15 packs of NiMh away (well took to the recycling point) as I thought nobody would ever have call for them again :(

cheers for the links, although the car only cost me £30 so I am reluctant to spend cash on batteries.

Even the connectors to reassemble them in 3x2 cost £5!!

The boy is only 2yrs 3months so putting a Lipo in would be too much power for him. I want some old Nimhs that have still got a little life in them but not too much

My uncle runs a battery company in Leicestershire and can supply stick packs (either NiMH or NiCd).

Price usually depends on capacity, but may be worth investigating: http://www.multicell.co.uk

They're usually good for playing, but not so great for competition. I've got some 1900s of his that are a few years old and still go well in the Tamiya, but I need them.

Use bits of copper wire from house cables instead then. I have done that before with no probs at all. Just cut a long enuf peice to create a `U` shape that reaches across both terminals.

I've got a couple of unopened packs of battery bars you can have for nothing.
Let me know if you want them and I'll bring them on Friday.

@ Longrat

bring them in that would be appreciated
If that fails i'll use the copper wire method
