Frustrated B4 ball end

Trying to install new front shock tower on my B4 after a little accident today an don't have a thin enough tool to tighten the ball end down on the inside mount, can anyone suggest a tool that will fit nicely I can get?

Any help would be much appreciated

They are a pain in the arse, swapped the ones on mine to TC5 ball studs that have the 2mm allen drive hole in the top, much easier.

Do u know where I can find a set at all?

The ball ends and studs on the SC10 4x4 are really good.
Metric mind.
Not popped a single ball stud yet.
They only go on one way and need serious force to put the end on the ball.

The Lunsford "broached" (the ones with the hex in the top) balls are excellent-especially in the position you mention, check out DMS and look in the X Factory X6 spares list (front end is from the B4),several different lengths to choose from as well.As was pointed out to me by Darren from DMS,if you drill a small hole in the plastic rod end-oppsosite the opening-you can unscrew and change ball stud position without actually "unpopping" the end,hex driver through the hole and undo the whole thing without stretching your plastic rod end unnecessarily-excellent!!

I'm on the dms's website now an cant seem to see them, probably just my eyes lol

The SC10 4x4 ends are open as well. You never have to pop them to move positions or raise ball stud height.

XF6170 -71-72 are what Chippy mentions.

Heres the ones I mentioned.

These have to go together a certain way put I've never seen one pop.

You can get different length ballstuds.

Just ordered some thanks mate so should be problem sorted when they get here

BeachBuggyPhil 20-05-2012 09:47 PM

I hope they sort it.
Chippy gives good advice, he'll see you right.
If you ordered the SC10 ones the side with the curve is the side the ball stud goes in, it needs hell of a push.
