What recievers are compatable with futaba 2.4ghz module? futaba 3pk

I recently got the futaba 3pk with 1 reciever module. It has the 2.4ghz module in it and a futabaR603FS reciever.

I need a second reciever to go in my mini 8ight. What are my options? Will it pair up with my ansmann w3.1?

Thanks in advance, Danny

FrSky TFR4 - theyre really small (about 5/8th size of an R603FS) and work with my Futaba 3GR 2.4 FASST transmitter no problem. And they're only £18 but you have to import them from HK as I don't know if anyone in the UK sells them. They are on eBay for £30 via a few HK sellers but I got mine from the big place that stocks all the cheapo Turnigy stuff and postage was about £2.75. Only downside is they have 2 aerial wires so I've taped mine to the outside of the antenna tube rather than running them up the inside.

Giantcod and T9hobbysport both do them in the UK, less than £25 and no issues with duty and admin fees. Agree with Spoolio, a great receiver that works. I haven't had any issues using it in 12th and GT10 cars, and they are fussy about having good radio gear with all the electrics so close together.

I've used the same philosophy as the 'plane guys and the original Futaba receiver - one aerial at 90 degrees to the other. I put one aerial up the mast/tube, and tape the other along the chassis. Works really well. HTH :)

cool, and do they share the same pairing method? with the button on the reciever and the one on the futaba module?

Yep, hold the button down on the receiver THEN power it up at the car and they bind up straightaway.

I've been using the FrSky receivers with my Futaba Fasst stuff as well...I've actually opened them up and removed one of the antenna's so it's just got the one....not only that, but I've wound up the one remaining antenna and have it so that only the end 30mm or so sticks out of the case...still works perfectly!!!

Opening them up is a little fiddly, the plastic is only thin, so just be careful when you do it and you'l be fine!

Been using them at 10th Nationals, and micro nationals without a single issue.

As for other brands, 2.4Ghz is different to 40/27mhz....you need to match up manufacturers/systems for Tx & Rx as each manufacturer uses subtly different methods for doing the 2.4 thing, stopping you from linking other brands of receiver. The FrSky stuff is the only exception to that that I know of.

Cool, I've ordered 1 from giantshark.co.uk (formerly giantcod) only £22 too, cheaper than ebay china :)

Using with Sanwa

hi guys,

have just read in a previous post that you have to use the same brand tx and rx but this type will work with futaba, my question is has anyone tried it with sanwa/airtronics 2.4 ghz stuff yet? if so did it work?

Cheers

the FrSky TFR4 Receiver is made to use the Futaba FASST System only !

it's not compatible with any other manufacture's system and is even different from the rest of the FrSky System Receivers

With the FASST tx and the TFR4 rx it's bulletproof, and only £22, can't go wrong
