servo probs ??

Does anyone know why my savox cuts out with my new hobbywing 60a esc when i turn it quick and is there a cure thanks ?

Savox servos are a common source of problems with cutting out in a lot of installations. Most people recommend fitting a capacitor to the receiver to help out, but it's hard to see how a 3A BEC output wouldn't be enough.

If you have another servo, try it and see if the situation changes. HTH :)

i have tryed a different type and its fine but would like to use a decent servo

Futaba and Sanwa would be the ones to choose. I realise Savox have a price advantage, but as they feature so many times in these situations, they don't seem to be great value. Have a look through this site to compare servo specs. HTH :)

Savox servo

As previously mentioned you will need to fit a radial electrolytic capacitor ( power cap ) to a spare port on your receiver. Maplins sell a 16 volt 4700 microfarad radial that will fit 99% of cars. You will have to solder on an old servo lead or a new one to the legs of the capacitor, insulate, plug and go ! Just dont forget to stick it to your car with double sided tape.

Savox servo's are a bit power hungry and even with a 3 amp supply from the BEC on the speedo may cause jitters and stuttering. It's the Inrush current thats too high without a power cap and it also can cause the speedo to shut down, restart, shut down etc

If you are sceptical I run a savox 1351MG off 4 cell Ni-Mh in my ministox with only a 1 amp supply from BEC, without the power cap it just wont work.

If you want a power cap pre-done I can supply for £4.50 inc postage just let me know how long you want the lead to be.

I use a savox low profile it a buggy works fine but put it into my touring car running a tekin speedo and futaba rf603ff reciever and it works fine just really slow

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, I fitted a Spektrum Voltage Protector to my reciever part No. SPM1600 which cured the problem. But I am using Spektrum equipment though.

The 60A ezrun should already have a power cap board as standard, check the capacitor wires to the + and - tabs on the esc or alternatively try replacing the capacitor
