Spur gears....
Hi, can someone advise what difference a 78T spur gear will make over the stock 76T?
I will be using a 6.5T motor and 21T pinion. I need to replace the stock spur but wondered what going to 78T would mean. Cheers |
A bigger spur gear will give you more acceleration and a lower top speed and is similar to changing to a smaller pinion.
Changing by two teeth on the spur gear will have a much smaller effect on performance over changing by the same number of teeth on a pinion. By changing spur and pinion sizes you can also move the motor back and forth, changing the weight distribution in the car. |
