Noise

Hi guys

I just finished setting up the electrics in my Durga (bit of a hatchet job compared to some of you legends, but it's a start!). Anyway, I fitted a slipper clutch, and an LRP 12T motor..... and the ESC is an LRP Quantum2.

Couple of points, with the car lifted in the air, should it be noisy at full throttle? Cos it sounds like a mini with a straight cut gearbox.... really quite loud. Also, the speed controller gives a constant bleep when the ESC is applying part load. It's silent at rest, and with part/full brake. The lights on the ESC are showing correctly at each stage, just the bleep I'm not sure of it should do?

Cheers!

Mine was really noisy at first. I meshed the pinion as per my B4, so with the spur held tight there was just a tiny bit of 'rock' on the pinion. It initially sounded quite agricultural and as you say, a bit like a Mini (got one of them too!) with straight cut idler gears. However, after 4 meetings, and having adjusted the belts - which get quite slack after a couple of runs - its now no noisier than any other 4WD really. Not sure about the bleep though, I have a Quantum in one of my bashers and I always thought it was mute as its never made any noises at all, sorry.
