Hi.
Thinking of entering this for this weekends 4wd regional, can you tell me is there is any open practice on saturday as I have not been to this track before?.
Thanks.

mikeyscott 30-04-2012 06:09 PM

Hi Mark :) would be great to see you make the trip!

No it'll be on a limited practice on the day, but it's a great track and venue

Swiss 30-04-2012 07:14 PM

Hi Mark

As Mike said, we do not alloy any practice on a regional track. We like to ensure its a level playing field on the day. The last time you will be able to practice is our first midweek meeting, this Wednesday.

Hi Paul. Can't make the mid week as I live in Southampton. I used to race 1/8th on road nationals so I'm used to practicing on the saturday to find a set up and get used to a new track layout(sorry about the rant!).
Also I run gens ace batteries and motor, can you tell me if thats ok to use at the regionals?.
Cheers.

Swiss 30-04-2012 08:52 PM

Hi Mark

Speaking to our regional rep, it sounds like the cells ate on the approved list, could you supply more details of the motor and cells and we can definitely confirm.

Thanks
Paul

dibble34 30-04-2012 08:53 PM

Hi mark

You need to check your kit here http://www.brca.org/?q=content/homol...-updates/14218. Had a quick look and think the gens ace batteries are brca legal(assuming they are the saddles), but not the motors

Cheers

Dave

I know this is stupidly short notice but is there still a way of booking in to this meeting?
I would be running as a guest as I am scoring points in the Mid West region for 4wd.

Would I still get a practice if I booked in now? Not sure on your regions rules (a link to them would be appreciated).

I'm mainly planning on coming along to get on Tony's nerves :p

RudeTony 04-05-2012 11:57 AM

Your too nice of a guy to get on my nerves Rog .....

That will be a pony you now owe - LOL

Northern Monkey 04-05-2012 12:20 PM

Good luck for the weekend Mikey and Al. I will be interested to see the results. Should also say good luck to any other 'TORCH' members taking part. K cars on the increase at TORCH. I will be at Silverstone in a Ferarri.
Ha! Ha! No, not mine. Just an opportunity to drive a big car around a proper track. See you all next week.

Does anyone know how I can change my ability level for the mid south series?

Emailed the change of details section on DMS-results, but not sure if its worked or not?

Dont want to be in the bottom heat again if I can help it...

I think it's based on your F Rating. So top heat F1 and bottom heat F5.

Matt is correct in that most clubs this year have adotped to sort heats based on F grade, we have also been making a note of the results from the first two and "adjusting" people grades based on an average too :eh?: so some have movd up and some down slightly...

We had a few modest people who underestimated how good they were but a LOT of people who seem to think they are FAR better then they are (or their results show that they are at least)

Briangb 04-05-2012 05:51 PM

Hi Adam. Just because you were in my heat at TORCH should not detract from your performance. It was a pleasure to race against you, and also good to meet you. However, I sympathise with your situation. Anyway, good luck this weekend mate. I am not at DMS for the next 2wd round, but look forward to seeing you again at SHRCCC for round 3 2wd.

rob8246 04-05-2012 07:09 PM

For the Torch regional I based the heat lists on F grade and driver ability.
Its not easy to get it 100% right as there are a few drivers that I did not know who were an F5.
As Darren said previous results can now help the clubs to rate each driver in a fair way.

Important Please Read...

All

Just to let everyone know, that we have been down the track this morning, to get everyhting ready for tomorrow, and it seems we have had some issues with flooding. After a number of hours we have done what we can to get the meeting running tomorrow.
This is just a note, (as we know many travel some distance), that there is a chance we have to cancel the meeting. We are going down the field later today to make a decision, but please keep checking this forum, as there will be a note later, (yes or no). Not sure exaclty what time we will post, but it will have to be before it gets dark :-)

Thanks

Paul

Met Check has been wrong everyday this week for my area, not sure who actually produces reliable, accurate forecasts these days

Fingers crossed.

Very true!

Swiss 05-05-2012 04:58 PM

Right, just got back from the track, and it has been decided we are going to run the meeting.
I will put a proviso, in that if we do have rain tonight then their is a small chance the meeting could be cancelled. Having looked at the weather forecasts, I think there is only a very slim chance of this happening. It has been very dry here today.
Please be patient with us tomorrow, as a huge amount of work has been put in the track today, just to make sure we can all have a good days racing.

Thanks

Paul

spenner 05-05-2012 05:02 PM

Did you get Andy to book the skip again Paul ??? So happy we are racing our toy's tomorrow.... can't wait!!!

Northern Monkey 05-05-2012 05:21 PM

Well done Paul & crew
Was getting a bit worried there...

spenner 05-05-2012 05:37 PM

Having spoken to Timbers, i really do take my hat off to them!! Personally the meeting would have been called off, but they have spent the whole day removing water so we can go play toy cars. Well done to the guys at Fold

Parking

Having also just spoken to Paul he mentioned that everyone will need to park down the left hand side of the field tomorrow. There is to be no pitting behind the rostrum as the ground is too soft.

Well done to Paul, Keith and Ian for what sounds like a lot hard work today.

We have a track!

Swiss 05-05-2012 05:54 PM

Thanks for the kind words. I would like to mention Ian and Keith as well.... Let's hope everyone enjoys.
Just a quick note, please refrain from parking on the right hand side of the field tomorrow as that is still waterlogged. Park down the left hand side. Any questions please come and see me in the morning.

P

mikeyscott 05-05-2012 06:13 PM
