Where to buy a X6?

as the title says, i am gonna get a B4, and after reading the oople review on the X6, i want the conversion kit.

where can i get one from, and how much for?

bigred5765 13-04-2008 09:26 PM

daryl at lesro will sort out
not sure on price

Chrislong 13-04-2008 09:28 PM

Daryl at Lesro (01202 499354), or Darren at DMS (01923 816636).

Again I am not sure on price. But one thing you can be sure of is plenty of free advice on it, and thats priceless

rcluke 14-04-2008 11:59 AM

are the parts hard to obtain for it?, like if you snap a chassis etc.

Lee 14-04-2008 12:03 PM

You wont snap a chassis, but with DMS and Lesbo im sure there is plenty of service:thumbsup:

stuhurley 14-04-2008 12:09 PM

I doubt you would snap a chassis. Obviously not concrete proof, but I've only heard of 1 person breaking a chassis. (see 2wdrc.com for the post if you want to find it)

the front end is basically all B4 anyway. Apart from the nose piece. X-factory redesigned it a while back and the newer ones never seem to break. I've not broken a new one and it's been on 6 months at least

I've broken the odd rear arm, but not for a long time now either.

Rear wings are what I use the most of.

It's very rare I need to do anything but change the batteries between rounds now

Lesro, DMS and any associated LHS will be able to supply replacement parts

Spencer Mulcahy 14-04-2008 12:19 PM

And you are an animal as well Stu.:p

rcluke 14-04-2008 12:28 PM

how much would anyone reccomend that i pay for a B4 factory team ?

Lee 14-04-2008 12:31 PM

Id buy a new one if i were you, at least you know its right then:thumbsup:

I was advised to buy a normal B4 (not RTR) when I got mine. Basically the front's the same. (front wheel nuts opposed to screws and alloy servo mounts are different). You only really take the gears, hubs, drive shafts and hinge pins front the back of the kit (from memory) so a full FT is possibly a waste of money. (you could always sell the spare B4 parts on I suppose)

You should also look at what shocks your going to run (losi/associated). A B4 FT would give you nice associated ones, but you can also get a full set of losi or associated ones for about £30 off ebay.

If you emailed Chazz from x-factory, he might be able to give you a full parts list (I think he made a few full kits for people)

Chrislong 14-04-2008 01:45 PM

Yeh, Stu is dead right - probably cos it was me who told him he didn't need the FT . But basically, get the stealth B4 (new) and add to it turnbuckles (Lunsford), bare in mind you may need one which is 5mm shorter if you want to use the E-speed rear camber link hangers (they are better) - so you may be best ordering the Lunsfords as specified lengths rather than pre-packed kit intended for the B4.

The other thing, is if you intend to run Losi shocks. PM me your email address and I will email to you my setup sheet. This is the setup I ran yesterday at Southport and it is one I have gone back to from when I did well last summer, it feels excellent - its a "one setup works everywhere, wet or dry" kinda setup too.

are the losi shocks any better than the associated ones?

Big E 14-04-2008 02:26 PM

Personal choice really. Most people run the losi so for set ups it is maybe better.

I run them as I don't want different shocks on each car, and also because I couldn't get the ae shocks to lap as fast......hint hint :woot:

rcluke 14-04-2008 02:39 PM

so i need to get a b4 with no shocks.

what parts from the B4 do you need for the x6 conversion?

dancoog 14-04-2008 04:01 PM

I picked mine up while over int he states but what works is picking up the team kit a set of turnbuckles and frnt aluminum brace.

This is the kit I picked up:

http://www.m-k-racing.com/product_in...roducts_id=654

if you aren't going to use associated shocks then why spend more on a FT kit.

Chrislong 14-04-2008 04:19 PM

The B4 parts you don't need are:
Chassis
Battery brace
Rear bulkhead
rear T-brace
Rear wishbones
Rear shocktower
Rear motor plate
rear motor guard
rear gearbox
Wingmounts

mattym0310 14-04-2008 05:29 PM

I use team associated shocks, again personal preference. I would recommend a FT kit and for you to then sell the parts left over, you can pick one up for £150 odd new.

You do know he lives in Memphis TN right.
And drove from there to Reo Raceway.
Like I said right place at the right time.
I didnt race that day with my blue sharpie B44 though...lol
I was at the money race practice day.
Paul I assume walked out with big money.
As well my cousin Curtis the nitro nut walked out with a wad of dough.

Ash you are a legend . Paul and Chazz are very good friends, they are father and son.

I'm not too fond of money races, because dirty deeds happen.
Someone crashing into someone else just to win is bogus.

Trophy races or club racing is #1.
