How much better is the SV2?
 

I'm just coming back into racing seriously.
I'm torn between the SV, SV2 and DEX210.

Based on the fact that I've not driven properly (i.e. raced) for sometime and therefore my car is more of a "moving chicane".

How much better is the SV2 over the SV based on my experience?
is it worth the extra money in the real world?

The sv2 includes all the mods we had to do to a sv to make it better. The dex210 is too complex in my opinion, way too many options for meer mortals like myself.

the cougar sv2 should be better as its the latest development and has all the latest spec included, however in your postistion somthing like this would be well worth considering

The Durango isn't complex at all, I only just got back into it around Christmas time and bought a 210. Really easy to set up, and every change is noticable. Couldn't ask for more :thumbsup:
Never driven an sv to compare.

I have built and driven both, not to waste time in all details but the cougar is many times easier to work on......... Lets go now I'm ready for the back lash

I already have most of the stuff i need so it ain't a huge bargin for me.

I agree the cougar sv2 is a lot earier to work on like getting to the diff 4 screws and it out unlike having to take the whole gear box off for the 210

i would go for the sv2 only £50 ish more and then you will have the current up to date car.i think it is more then worth it for that bit extra it a no brainer i think

if you have every thing else then go for the sv2

plus one on what mark said sv2 not just a better car but the spares back up is worth it alone,

Ok so an sc2 it is. Any idea on essential spares list? I.e what breaks! :)

I've not broke anything yet! but the new medium flex wishbones would be a good option to fit. Also worth carrying some hub carriers (get 5 deg ones to use as a handling option)

front shock tower
steering arms
caster block
rear hubs

I would get two shock towers and one of each of the rest, should be the only things you break in a season

A spare front bulkhead would be a good idea too

Maybe these aswell, (U3730 Ball Socket Ofset £3) I broke one on Sunday but it was a bad crash!

Nice to see new owners of the cougar SV2....the buggy is very well thought out and as several other members have mentioned benefits from all the refinements that the SV needed over time. Grab a spare chassis-to-topdeck brace as I have had a few issues with the rodends pulling out. Other than that mine seems bullet proof and responds nicely to set-up changes. I just need to sort my scrappy driving out and I may be having a nice 2012 season :woot:

+1 for Mark Christophers suggestion on Traffmans second hand deal...good deal for the money :thumbsup:

I have ordered mine so when it arrives I take it for a run out I will be able to provide an informed assessment of the car. From the pictures it certainly seems to have all the bells and whistles. We will see.:D

Just waiting for the sale of one of my Rc Helis to go through so it frees up the cash.

Does anybody have suggestions for a basic starting point for grass?
I'll run it in the silver can class at Hinckley to get warmed up! (me not the car):)

The car will run very well on grass in kit spec, maybe invest in a Trishbits front bulkhead weight, a set of slim front rims U3766 with Schumacher Stagger Rib tyres U6592 and Yellow mini spike rear tyres U6558.

Ok more on the shopping list! I was think of the nose weight as just about everyone is using them!

Can't wait to holding everyone up when I get my self down the track.

Last weekend used the sv2 for the first proper time at the weekend. did +2 laps over the xxx out the box. I lover her! Stops turns and shoots off like nothing else I have ever driven! Just the driver holding things up now! :thumbsup:
