UPD (Painted designs by U1timate PigDog)
Hey guys, this id a follow on thread from my previous painted stuff on the my recent paint thread, I will try and update the page with new paint as I do them.
Heres a few shots of my latest stuff. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMGP9882.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...IMGP9867-1.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMGP9890.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMGP9888.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMGP9870.jpg |
They all look really good Graham ! That's a mass of work too, good consistency through all of them despite being on completely different shells. Really good mate, looks like you've really up'd your game
Looking forward to following this thread as you churn more out ! |
I should have a few pics of all these mounted in a couple of weeks so will get them uploaded once I get them, hopefully the pictures will be better than mine lol, the sunlight really hindered the colours on the last pics.
Anyway thanks for looking guys. Edit: missed your comment there Ian, thanks very much mate, thats much appreciated. |

Looking real pro, love the latest buggy shell and that's nuts (who's got that many rc cars!) how you've done so many carrying the same design over to the different shaped shells as Ian mentioned, could never do that! Would pass out and not because of the paint.
Nice to have a titled thread finally too!:) |
lookin' sharp graham
|
Looking gurd G :)
Really liking the geometric design on the SV2 shell at the top  and the batch that you've done, always hard to tailor a design across different types of shell classes but you've nailed them  |
Cheers guys as always its well appreciated
The set of 17 was hard work but getting the final results was well worth the effort, the hard bit really was the cutting out from the liquid mask, it really takes it out of you cutting that my pins out (i dont know how Mr parker copes with all his :woot:) and then the paint is the easy bit just remembering to get the layers and colour mixes right on each one. Anyway once again thanks for the comments. |

just got one of these to race myself, love the colours very nice

Well its been a while since I last posted anything so thought I'd post up my most recent body for myself, I did plan to fill the whole design with characters etc but I was hard pressed for time as I needed it for tonight so Painted it up quickly last night.

That's brilliant Graham ! Bet it looks ace charging around the track too !
|
Cheers guys much appreciated, I wanted something nice but didnt have too much time to get it done so did as much as I had time to do but really happy with the outcome, looks cool on the track. Think for my next one I may even stick with the full grey scheme, but fit a few more graphics in there.
|
Loving ure work chap , great designs :)
|
Looks cool fella.
I like limited colours - I reckon 3 is the magic number :) Are the characters hand cut or cut on a 'cutter' ? |
Cheers guys much appreciated, yea there all hand cut, liquid mask and a craft knife :D
Yea I quite like 3 colour designs, I think sometimes limiting the colours inspires you to get more creative in the designs. though I am considering doing a full colour graffiti style body. That would look pretty I reckon. |
Haha, nice to have something amusing on a shell, loving it :D

Hey Ian,
Sorry I took my time getting back to you, no didnt have anyone in mind was think of just going at freestlye and letting the imagination do the work. but will definately have a look through a few different style to see if theres anything I like and go for it. fingers crossed lol. |

Well its been a while but heres my most recent bodies, 1 I did a while ago for Team Ardon for the 24hr Ardent event , then the next was fresh out of the lab today, a few mistakes that I'm less than happy about but in the flesh has a great 3d effect and is really nice and bright.
Edited** new photos hopefully showing a bit more of the 3d look and closer to the true colours http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...gDog/Graf5.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...gDog/Graf1.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...gDog/Graf4.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...gDog/Graf3.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...gDog/Graf6.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...arJune2012.jpg |
hey piggy d, nice to see you posting again
not keen on the colors on the graff one but the design is cool dude |
Initially I thought the crazy one was for the 2012 Olympics - as it bears similarities to the logo ;)
I have thought about some 3D action on my designs - just means even more work though !! |
Cheers guys, The design was overly complex to do using liquid mask (I wouldnt do it again), too much cutting and too many layers of colours to create the effect.
The colours havent come out as nice in the pics but look alot better in real life, though very bold . |
Both look cool, the graph one is very DAIM inspired but I like it, you've captured what he's about !
And the other one, just pure simplicity, it always works  |
Cheers Ian,
Yea did it in Daim style and tried to capture his graffiti style, its part taken from one of his designs and some slight alterations to get it to fit right on the body. edited my photos which i hope show the design better. |
G.... what can i say...... there all class :D
and congrates on getting your work on front cover  |
Cheers matey nice to see you on here, hope your doing well.
Heres one I painted for myself, I took a design from I loved from shop ufo and changed a few elements and gave it my own twist, also did one for a friend at the same time but no pics at mo (a little simpler/plainer than this tho) Its my favourite body I ever painted so far and decided I'm keeping the scheme (colours and stars at least) for all my bodies now . Anyway hope you guys like it. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/..._PigDog/G1.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/..._PigDog/G3.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/..._PigDog/G2.jpg |
Love it, the use of the stars and little splats are awesome, all goes really well together.
|
Cheers Steve,
Yea I really liked the way the stars came out (RCS stencil ) and like I said its my favourite so far. :) so think I'll stick with the theme for my bods. |
I swear I'd posted a reply to this one ??? Anyway, looks cracking !

Beautiful. Love the stars. Been trying to freehand them, but just too small. Never occured to me to crank up the plotter and cut out the 'starry' part and blow a dot in the centre. Doh!
Must try something like this next... Keep up the great work. J |
Cheers mate, I also tried freehand first but like you say there just so small but either a stencil or vinyl cut stars will work great.
The RCS starstruck stencil is very cool, I will definately using it alot lol, |
When I used to do the crash helmets all the stars were masked with the plotter and then as you say just a dot in the centre. Semi precision
