Looking like its going to be a wet weekend!
Any one know of any other tyres than ballistics? |
Why? Are you saying Ballistics wont work?
|
Ballistics work..
Soft compound Dboots might work but I've never tried them myself in the wet.. |

Start time for Regionals
Guys,
Booked into RHR for my first regional in 15 years YAY, but there is no indication of timings. What time does the track open in the mornings etc. Really looking forward to the event, either wet or dry it is going to be great. See you all there Windy |

Looking at the forcast for the rest of the week and it looks as if it might be very very wet !
Will the event go ahead whatever the weather ? |
Yes it will, friday saturday and sunday don't seem too bad, just drizzle friday and not really much sat or sunday, the track will stand that - also last year we installed drainage in all the 'holes' so we can pump out any standing water.. And the soil at RHR is really sandy and drains very quickly.
|
Please could somebody (James / Kash / Gemma) advise what time we should arrive each day at the weekend ?
Did NW region last year, and aware that timings might be slightly different here. Looking forward to it ! Thanks Andy Grason |

Thought the weather wasn't going to be too bad
Just looked at the weather forcast on netweather.tv It's amazing how it changes. Have been following it all week and it looked like it would be OK for both days upto about 2:00pm. Have just looked at the update as you guys were talking about bad weather and yes it looks bad for Saturday but better for Sunday. Good job it's Astro, it would be a mess on Grass.
The booking in figures look good for both days. See you all there. |
We have some really good caterers - same as the oOple race for those who went, they will even be doing mini sunday lunches! yorkshire pud, tatties, you name it  So plenty of really good quality hot food on offer from the new Robin Hood Raceway Cafe :D

Top stuff James ....

North East 1/10th Off Road Regional RD1 2wd & RD1 4WD- YORCC
Congratulations to Craig Cillinson & Steve Lawson for there wins this weekend. Heard it was a very "Wet" weekend. As some of you may or maynot of noticed I wasnt around this weekend, Unfortunatly my weekend has consisted of spending "alot" of time in the local Hospital, however fingers & toes crossed Im on the mend! Looking forward to the next round @ Jarrow (more details to follow!!) |
Great weekend :) loved every second even the rain lol, Great effort by RHR guys to get/keep the track from turning into a lake 110% effort and was much appreciated :) Food was great also, Wife loved the Beef casserole :)
|
We were actually very lucky with the timing of the rain showers.
Saturdays rain was during the lunch break and just before finals. Sunday afternoon we had a massive shower miss us by about half a mile and the shower before finals was another big one that we just caught the fringe of. If the rain we saw overnight was during the day we'd have had no chance. |

Any feedback on the catering or anything else is appreciated - if you were running the meeting what would you have run differently?
All I've had back so far was the cups of tea were 70p which some thought was expensive, so we'll cut that to 50p. I simply based the price on Stotfold national the week before where tea was £1/cup - hence cut it to what i thought was fairer. Cant to anything about the rain but hope you enjoyed it! |
James
Food all weekend was excellent and well priced. The meeting was run great apart from the lenth of the break between heats and finals on sunday. If we had just ran the finals then we might have all avoided the rain. Mark |
Mike, thanks for the photographs, I particularly like the one of my car ahead of Craig's and Ben's, I was up to second at that point, but it didn't last too long. Much appreciated.
James ... the meeting was run exceptionally well. Catering was great quality, and I thought very fair prices. Track was immaculate considering the conditions. I've got to add, considering I brought my family along, it's a great venue for the caravan and kids to accompany racers to events. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for everyone's effort. |
Good point on the above post re the break and the weather. The dark clouds to the north were very visible at the end of Rd 4. Made the tyre choice simpler though, as the track was drying out enough for Schuey yellows.
Other than that, I think the venue is fantastic and it was run to match. Best things about the venue ...
|
Nice to hear that the track was ok for people, we had a large team of people there for the entire Easter weekend, laying new astro, pressure washing the astro, hoovering, weeding, painting etc.
Glad it was worth it. G |
