Race Meeting - 6 April

Just a little reminder to the oople'ets that we are holding an open race meeting this Sunday at the track. The format is yet to be decided but will follow the basic principle of our winter series.

Gates open 8.00am
Practice 8.30am
First race 10.00am

Our winter series meetings were generally finished by 4.00pm but if anyone wants to stay on afterwards, they are more than welcome.

Recent improvements have been made to the rear of the rostrum and the fencing down the sides of the jumps has nearly been completed.

Everyone is welcome, 2WD and 4WD classes. Maybe longer or multiple finals to get more track time.

Any questions? Just ask!

A big thanks

Many many thanks to all the guys that turned up today, especially the decorating crew - you know who you are. All the kerbs were painted once if not twice (DC correct me if I am wrong) as we made good headway on some of the fencing, strimming and the boarding of the rostrum.

Lets hope we have some luck with the weather tomorrow and hope to see the regulars and some new faces trackside.

martboy21 06-04-2008 08:13 AM

still reckon we could of had a 2wd and 4wd drift class,he he

savageman25 06-04-2008 05:27 PM

why was i the only one to take my car round lol it wasnt even that deep, it got stuck like all the time and even the 'great' Christopher Brooke couldnt do a full lap. I couldnt do a full lap but i was concussed thanks to steve's patio door. It would have been great fun to have a drift class like martin said.

rcbrookey 06-04-2008 06:16 PM

Driving that car in the snow was 1 of the funniest and hardest things i have done with a rc car But the funniest thing i have seen in my life was when lawerence (i have deliberately spelt it wrong just to pee him off) walked staright into my glass patio door :thumbsup::thumbsup::lol::lol::lol:

Matt/Steve: Can you confirm theres a work party this weekend please? just need to arrange my weekend and need to know if i am coming down or not? cheers

Laurence/Mini Brooke: If my flipping Mamba Max turns up from the states ill bring the 4wd with bald tyres, were bound to have some rain (not jinxing!!) so one particpant into the drift class this saturday......but of course only after the work is done!!

Laurence: Also mate, stay clear of big clear windows that are attached to patio doors!!

MattADH 08-04-2008 08:03 AM

Yes there will be a work party this weekend although I cannot make Saturday and have to go to the rallycross National at Ware on Sunday.

I believe that Steve Andrews will be down to work on the fencing whilst there is still plenty of woodwork/painting on the rostrum.

savageman25 08-04-2008 11:57 AM

i didnt see it, it was an easy mistake not to, i bet alot of you lot have walked into patio windows or somthing similar.

martboy21 08-04-2008 04:30 PM

every other day it happens, as you do just strolling along and BANG some arse has stuck a pane of glass in your way,

dont worry laurence your not the only one, i walked into the london eye on sunday, just popped out of no where!!

David Church 08-04-2008 06:36 PM

Just to ditto Matt's words. People who are prepared to put HUGE amounts of efforts into preparing and running the tracks / clubs that we all love to race at get my TOTAL respect. Yours is too often an overlooked and thankless task.

I also feel that I need to apologise to DC and his crew for (ahem) 'testing' whether the painted curbs were dry or not. I am sorry (not only because my shell got spattered) but you guys know that mine was also for a worthy cause (honest):p
