Batley Club Meetings

We really do need to get the club meetings going - we have a meeting on Sunday 10am - 4 pm and it would be really good to see many of you there.

We had great weather on Sunday but only 4 drivers turned up - I know it was the end of year finals at Worksop but I put the meeting on the calendar to try to cater for those of you that had not qualified to race at that meeting.

Come on drivers - support the local club before it closes down through lack of support!!

aeb4 31-03-2008 04:57 PM

i want to race here but im only 14 and im not a member. can i still race at these race meetings

Lee 31-03-2008 04:59 PM

I expect there will be more people this coming Sunday, assuming the weather is ok ;)

Oscar 01-04-2008 10:06 AM

I'm hoping to be there, weather permitting;)

Lee 01-04-2008 10:10 AM

I have a minor issue, :(

We are expected to be there for 10 am which is fine, but if it is called off it can be posted on here before 9am which is good, but............. it takes me an hour and a half to get there so i would be half way down the A1:lol:

Any chance it could be posted earlier if it is going to be cancelled:confused:

Lee 01-04-2008 10:16 AM

I think thats looking like the better option for me anyway:)

aeb4 01-04-2008 03:50 PM

how many batteries would you recommend using?

jimmy 01-04-2008 03:55 PM

You need enough so you can charge them up between rounds - I always charge up before a meeting and if it's just me racing (not vicky also) then I generally have enough to do all day without charging.
Ideally you'd need 3 packs of nimh cells so you can charge one up whilst racing with one and letting the one you've just raced with cool down.. if that makes sense.

I assume we can race with LiPo at batley club meetings - and with lipo you can probably get away with 1 pack since you can race & put them on charge quickly before going out to marshall (run!)

aeb4 01-04-2008 04:10 PM

ive only got one so ill see if i can get some more soon. btw when i charge my batteries the 12v battery makes a high pitch humming noise. is something up?

One won't do, you need three really. If your running a b4 you won't need anything to fancy.

What charger are you using to charge from the 12 volt?

aeb4 02-04-2008 03:37 PM

pro peak xing
ive got a 3300mah battery in my car

Richard Lowe 02-04-2008 03:51 PM

What connectors do you use on you battery? If I come to Batley I will bring some cells you can borrow if you use corally's if you want ;)

Reply to message regarding travelling time and posting cancelled meetings on website by 9 am. In addition to this, I am also in the process of setting up a text message system - drivers need to let me have mobile numbers and I have set up a Group on my mobile to inform drivers of any cancelled meetings by text - if I do not send a text message then you can assume the meeting is on. You would need to let me have your name and mobile number in order for me to add you to the group. You can send me a private message via this site.
