WRCA End of Season Meeting - 11 March

WRCA End of Season Meeting @ COBRA 11 March 2012

To follow on from the final round of the indoor series (this Sunday at WORM - entries are still open!) the idea is to have a fun day's racing and also to present the WRCA trophies for both this season and the past couple of seasons.

COBRA will be hosting the event at their indoors venue in Marshfield
More details of the event will follow soon on the WRCA site's front page but it is already available for booking on the events section of the site!

hit5005 15-02-2012 06:04 PM

im all booked in

axeman 15-02-2012 07:24 PM

Sorry wont be there..:(

It is our opening day at talywain. We were hoping to be open mid feb but have taken a few delays due to snow.

Sorry folks but we need to open our club now.

On a positive note taly will be open March the 11th more details will follow.

Pete if you could take my trophies to the next caldi club night after the 11th that would be great.

JACKOR33 15-02-2012 08:35 PM

Well i'm booked in aswell ready to go

Good thread hijack attempt axe;):p

Why not open on the saturday 10th or the following sunday? , if we run on seperate dates then surely it will maximise visitors to both events seeing as we have a finite amount of racers in the area:thumbsup:

Besides you have to attend to defend your Indoor racing god status of 2wd

See you all trackside soon

dave

Simple solution - the first person who announced their clubs/region meeting on the boards gets it... :woot:

If you read the thread nearly there you would have seen we are about to open.
We had already chosen not to open on caldicots micro national as not wanting to clash.

We have ground rent to pay and no nationals this year. Reg and myself have been working up there since before christmas. Talywain needs to open or it will close for good.

Purhaps the WRCA should discuss dates with club heads before putting them on forums.

Also if the WRCA would like to contribute towards the ground rent so we can leave it closed that is also great.

If people wish to go and get there trophies thats great and normally I'm the first in the que with my great big speech. But talywain will be open for everyone who wishes to attend.

Yes i agree youve said you were going to open soon - however are reading the Taly track thread there isnt one mention of a specific date of WHEN you were going to open Taly's track Steve ? Or that you were going to hold a special opening day meeting ? And you yourself said you were meant to open about now ( Mid Feb ) but due to bad weather you couldnt, so without a specific date set you cant expect for people to put it in their diary ?

As for the rest of it for date clashes etc thats between club reps and the WRCA - us normal club attendees just look at the forums for info - if its not on there or someone puts something up first then thats how we see it.

Im not having a go at you or Taly Steve, i know you Reg & Matt & others have put in loads of work on the track and deserve success, but you are just as much to blame for this meeting date clash as anyone else, otherwise the WRCA or COBRA wouldnt have put their date up first, surely... ?

Matt

jaffacake 16-02-2012 09:16 AM

Its only mid Feb and already there are ummmm difficulties, reminder of last year??
In my opinion it would be a bit daft to run the two events on the same day

Best of luck with Talywain guys, cracking track & facilities

peetbee 16-02-2012 09:38 AM

Sorry to hear that there is a clash Steve, when I am asked to post dates up in future I will check that all clubs have been contacted first to make sure there are no clashes (wherever possible)

Unfortunately I am unable to race on the 11th but I'm sure we can get the trophies to you.

axeman 16-02-2012 11:14 AM

Are all the other clubs in the Wrca closing that day ?
We are opening that day end of. Even if only 5 people come we are opening.
Talywain will be open every Saturday and Sunday until October.

Simple communications is all it takes. Wrca should be checking with all clubs before putting dates up. It worked great for the summer series.

I 'm not expecting people who have raced the indoor series as they have trophies they wish to collect. But we do have our own members to consider who want to get there toys out and play.

JACKOR33 16-02-2012 11:20 AM

Axe, if you are open every saturday and sunday for march til october why not start as you mean to go on and open on the saturday?;)
I'm looking forward to racing at taly on the amended track and a full weekend of racing sounds good

millzy 16-02-2012 11:28 AM

Im looking forword to both( tally being open and the EOSF)

Axe, I sent you a pm

DCM 16-02-2012 02:03 PM

Steve, start a thread please.

No club is being asked to 'close' on that day, as I understand it, Talywain (and any other club) is free to hold a club day. Just that people have made such a hoorah about trophies, I believe the WRCA thought this would be a good end to the winter series, an open meeting where you can also be awarded your trophy. Don't think there was any sculdugery involved. But checks were made, no clubs had advertised that they were doing anything that weekend.

axeman 16-02-2012 03:54 PM

I like this thread!!!:)

I only put up I wont be there! and gave a nice reason why.
