Top Gear

Starts again tonight see how good or bad it is ... still one of the better things on tv even if it is rubbish lol

MRD 29-01-2012 04:35 PM

Yay . I've been waiting for it to start. Its a shame they only do six episodes at a time :(

Col 29-01-2012 04:56 PM

The trailer (as with all trailers...) looks awesome:thumbsup:

Oh, I dunno 'bout that. The one I've just followed down the A1 looked cr*p

matthew 29-01-2012 06:08 PM

cant wait 8.00 start

bodgit 29-01-2012 06:14 PM

This time in the jet V car race the jet cannot take off so that is going to be something. Does a jet going flat out on the ground understeer or oversteer ?? Love to see it on opposite lock tyres smoking.

only thing on tv i make a point of watching, lost its way a little maybe? too much time taken up with pointless challenges, maybe thats a little harsh, good watch tho

Nas 30-01-2012 07:24 PM

Top gear was pretty good last night. Jokes were funny, cars were good. Overall very impressed. The India special was AWFUL!! but they have improved, after the bad reviews.

jaffacake 30-01-2012 09:42 PM

Still just about watchable
Glad Hammond seen sense and had his rediculous hair cut

Steven Forster 31-01-2012 08:10 PM

Tomorrow, 7pm on BBC 2.

Chris56 12-02-2012 09:19 PM

I quite enjoyed last week, but what did people think tonight?
Not sure if my sense of humour is going, but I found tonight's episode pretty poor - especially the filming of a car chase.

Im now off to write a letter to the Daily Mail and to Points of View!

john333 12-02-2012 09:22 PM

a bit weak tonight I thought, after last weeks great episode

Nas 12-02-2012 09:25 PM

Turna ta traktion controle off, YEAS!

LOL.

I liked it quite a lot, but lasts week was MUCH better.

bodgit 12-02-2012 09:29 PM

T o be fair clarksons car chase bit was'nt too bad it did get some good scene's. Hammond should have been left back home. May giving it beans in the fiat was ok but a big thing for me is drop the star (who) in a car

stegger 12-02-2012 09:35 PM

I thought it was quite informative really tonight, ie Power to weight ratio !!!! That's it i'm going to loose some weight so i can go quicker and brake sooner :p Yeh it was a bit poor tonight.

c0sie 12-02-2012 10:03 PM

Xmas special was poor, week 1 was ok, last week was poor and today was poor.

I cant even watch the news bit any more, its pure cringe.

In fact its a sad time when the only good part about Top Gear now is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment.

+1, that used to be the boring bit, cup of tea time

allen 12-02-2012 10:11 PM

on a positive note the 300 bhp evoke sound interesting

Si Coe 12-02-2012 11:05 PM

I thought the finished car chase was actually pretty good, and would much rather have seen more about how they did that than the bits with Clarksons silly dialogue and Hammonds daft stunts. The filming sequences were something new and different for the show, the pratting about was just the same tired joke.
I actually liked May with the Panda. Probably because truth be told, he's right.....

Chequered Flag Racing 12-02-2012 11:19 PM

What a load of b*ll*cks tonight

, that was the section I used to hate the most, now it's the best :woot:

Richard Lowe 13-02-2012 12:08 AM

After about 5-10 minutes of the car chase bit I just turned over, I don't find the 'humor' funny at all - pretending to be rubbish at everything then acting surprised at peoples staged/scripted rections :(

A 300 bhp bulldozer is still a bulldozer :p

Spoolio 13-02-2012 07:17 AM

The Twitter post 8 hours ago from Richard Porter (the guy who does the Sniffpetrol.com website, writes for Evo mag and is the TopGear script editor) said it all:

"So anyway, tonight's TopGear. Sorry about that"

Admittedly there were a couple of laughs but it really really really has turned into a caricature of itself. In fact even as I was watching it I thought "This is weird".

hulmeytc3 13-02-2012 09:53 AM

Very poor episode, the news part was like a group of guys chatting at the pub, whole thing was like a badly written comedy sketch really, format is past its sell by date i think.

Welshy40 13-02-2012 12:22 PM

I found last nights show a bit crap. It was ok until they started to do that daft car race scene. I am wondering how many more series they can do before they get canned.

john333 13-02-2012 01:20 PM

They just seem to be trying a bit too hard these days.......they will have canned laughter next!

wish they'd just get back to what they do best which road tests and road trips / races. The Bugatti Veyron trip across Europe against the plane, and the Mclaren SLR run to Norway were stunning pieces of TV.

Smashing up Focus' and Jags for virtually no laughs is just a waste of money.

SlowOne 14-02-2012 08:19 PM

No one likes it... are you all still watching to remind yourselves you don't like it?!!! :D

Stop watching, then it might change... ;)

Chris56 19-02-2012 09:36 PM

How much better was it tonight?!!

Jezza chasing a motability scooter down a hill shouting "Fenton" LMAO

john333 19-02-2012 09:44 PM

Excellent tonight, laughed out loud many times

jaysllim 20-02-2012 02:30 AM

So who is guna offer there services to help me build a off road mobility scooter then? would b alot easier than pushing myself around in my wheelchair lol
