Armageddon MMXII - 1/10 off road 2 day event - 16/17 June - Grass Track

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of putting on a 2 day event possibly 16/17 June

The surface will be Grass with man made features, to make up a track. Classes: 1/10 electric off road, 2wd, 4wd, stadium truck, and short course.

Camping will be available from the Friday evening at the small nominal charge throughout the weekend. With on site food, and drink.

If I can get enough interest then I'll start making arrangements.

Thanks,

Matt

If we're here, we're in!

russmini 23-01-2012 06:15 PM

Yep, sounds good.

I would be very interested in 4wd, just need to know dates first. Grass tracks are just great fun (like the old days) perhaps ill get the classic Avante out and relive my youth.

I'm thinking 16/17 June, 2 weeks before the Oswestry national. Good date?

hazeandfizz 23-01-2012 10:10 PM

Count me in Matty, sounds great and loving the old skool grass idea. Book me in for 2wd, stadium and the lunchbox race!

James.

Jamesk 23-01-2012 11:12 PM

That's Le Mans weekend i'm afraid. Have to pass on that if the dates are confirmed.

Oh so young and impressionable :D

I think this race sounds interesting.

JezT 24-01-2012 12:04 PM

Me n Max may be there; Its just that we've done the summer series at Hinckley for the last couple of years and that is Saturday afternoons.

BTW if anyone is interested that is on grass so pop along some time and get some practice in before Matts event

RogerM 24-01-2012 12:18 PM

Sounds good, misses the West Mids regionals too so most likely be there (Adam probably will too if about that weekend)

Adam F 24-01-2012 12:54 PM

I would be in for 2wd/4wd and Lunchboxes if it runs..

Would think Ben, Phil and Matt would be in too..

Once the Mid South regionals have been released I will confirm a date for the event.

Tyres: Schumacher Minispikes and Ballistic Buggy any compound.

I have a couple of venues for a temporary track lined up but I hope to be able to confirm a permanent venue.

mattybucks 24-01-2012 05:53 PM

Cost wise - £15 per class per day, £25 for both days, £5 per night camping.

Collegeboy 24-01-2012 08:43 PM

This will bring back memories form my youth at West Drayton. If there is no clashes with regionals (mid south), then count me and my boy in, both 2wd and 4wd.

Cann't beat a weekend under canvas and old school racing.

Bring it on :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

budgio 24-01-2012 08:58 PM

Sounds good to me.
I,ll be there. :)

Jamesk 24-01-2012 08:58 PM

My god West Drayton !!! I used to run a Nikko Brat back then. I wonder why there are so little grass tracks now?

I think this is a GREAT idea, Matt (not sure about name :woot:), I love the grass stuff. To answer an earlier question, I think there aren't many grass tracks left due to our great predictable weather!
