Cat SX Body - Improvement??

Thought i'd just have a quick play and transform it (very badly so sorry for the quality, i had to use Paint)!

I think it looks better, or at least would if it was done properly haha

Thought i would add the original Cat 2000 style rear end to the body:

getting better!! Just tyres and paint and you're there mate:thumbsup:

jimmy 14-03-2008 01:46 PM

agreed nick - the way the cockpit slopes up and then immediately back down looks a bit strange and I think the driver might hit his head! Keeping it high like youve done looks better even if it's not aerodynamicly as good (maybe, who knows).

I think the shell as it is now will look good, I think it'll grow on people (not all people it has to be said).

Its looking more and more like the original Cat 2000 (non EC) shell all the time! MUCH Better in my opinion.

Random bump gone and a new window:eh?:

GRIFF55 14-03-2008 02:30 PM

NIce!!! Put one of those old school wings on(aerofoil, on that you could change the angle with little plastic clips) and that is bringing back memories of older buggies.
Who made those wings?

Chris Doughty 14-03-2008 02:47 PM

They were awesome lol

Remember before that the big moulded plastic Yokomo wings that just about everyone ran on every car (2 and 4wd) They were cool at the time and literally unbreakable haha

I think with those mods you have managed to make the bj4 shell look good!

Or was the Bj4 shell not making the Old school Cat 2000 shell look bad??

Lee 14-03-2008 04:16 PM

Those yokomo wings were really good unless it was cold, im not sure if they were all genuine yokomo wings or some cheap knockoffs but i saw so many cars driving round with half a wing

i think it's starting to look a bit like a yokomo MR4-BC [super dog fighter]

RC10WORLD 15-03-2008 07:56 AM

The original body (note different) looks more than very good to me. Be proud, be British, be different.

I think something like this!?

LEGEND 12-05-2008 09:26 PM

Yes i think that with the rest of the wing coloured in makes it look better, but the body itself will never be to my liking. :)

Chrislong 12-05-2008 10:10 PM

I like the shell! The one on Matt Whites car looks great, Kev did another good job there.

MattW 12-05-2008 10:13 PM

Yeah, i was happy with it - and it was a seriously quick job actually, just in time for the indoor finals

Lee 13-05-2008 07:42 AM

The car looks nice on the track. I like it.

The car doesn`t have to be pretty to be fast.

Kev B 13-05-2008 11:28 AM

Cheers for the comments, im just looking forward to Masking matts design across the shell and side of the undertray! Should be fun. I think with the first pictures from Schumacher the car looked less than flattering but seeing the car for real and Jimmys great shots from Worksop has really helped. looks very quick on track.

MattW 13-05-2008 11:44 AM

KB, may be able to sort that very soon...............

some more!!

Chrislong 13-05-2008 04:34 PM

Well if thats a quick job, whats Mossy's excuse? Its top notch!

Kev B 13-05-2008 09:29 PM

Think it was about 3 hours start to finish. I think i have painted Matts shells for about ten years now and gone though various shades of blue but think i have right now. Just need to convince schumacher to change from purple cause it clashes but think thats never gonna happen!
