Southport Easter Egg Meeting...

...is being held on Easter Sunday. Booking in will probably start at around 11:00 with racing starting at around 12 noon.

By then, we will have installed the new straight, the new doubles will be finished and the re-shaped jump will be perfect.

Hopefully, there will be other bits and bobs done to the track that will enhance the track as opposed to changing it significantly.

Anyway, if you want to come and play, you can e:mail your information to me at:- [email protected].

We will be running 2wd, 4wd and if there is enough interest a truck heat. If there is not enough interest for a truck heat, then as long as no other drivers in "your" heat complain, you can run your truck in that.

Lipo's are allowed as long as they are charged with the proper equipment (i am sure no one on here is daft enough to do otherwise).

There will be easter eggs for the top 3 in each class - so get your entries in PDQ so we can start going to tesco's to buy the eggs!

If you need more information, please ask!

Best regards

Chris

I don't think there will be any problems filling a truck heat mate. Me, Russ, Col, Craig, Baz, Mark and your good self will all have them by then.

burgie 13-03-2008 06:13 PM

i have one already, but i am not running it for that race :woot:

but, if mr long turns up with his, there is your heat!

Tom3012 13-03-2008 06:17 PM

wohooo ill definately be there... might qualify low and goe egg hunting!!! jus kidding :)

ill be doing 4wd unless my dad lets me use the truck!

craigosh 13-03-2008 11:24 PM

Think Mr Long might be off Worksop or something.. Tom you should do both!

Burgie, come on be a man run the truck :D sure we'll all play nice..............ish

danDanEFC 14-03-2008 10:01 AM

Are we looking to trucks for this week only or a truck heat each week?

Scouser 14-03-2008 11:37 AM

I reckon the best bet for the truck class would be on 'Club Days' where there are no points in any other class at stake. I know I will be running the B4 in the summer series and the Kyosho on the dirt spec/4wd days. I think most of the others feel the same way so Club days seem the best option.

bigred5765 14-03-2008 11:46 AM

can you remove Matty please
just heard were in for the neo
a bit last minute Joby
sorry

Chrislong 14-03-2008 12:28 PM

I am intending to do Worksop..

BUT, id like to support any club who is trying to hold a truck heat, I think they are ace and the X-60 is a dream to drive. So if you need an additional 1 then let me know as I am quite prepared to come to Southport with the X-60 rather than Worksop.

craigosh 14-03-2008 01:04 PM

Come to Southport Chris, you know you want to

As well as gettin beat down by baz in the trucks! you can get some practice in on the new jumps :D

Think we'll have to have a layout that maximizes airtime :D

Lee 14-03-2008 01:08 PM

Where abouts are the new jumps situated on the track?

Any pics?

vader 14-03-2008 01:29 PM

I'm interested in this too :)

craigosh 14-03-2008 02:48 PM

There will be Easter Eggs for top 3 in each final Vader!!

Jumps are, Doubles in front of the tarmac section and a reshape to the table/hump/bridge in front of the rostrum, we're also gonna build in another mound to get a bit of air off in the middle but it wont be shaped like a proper jump!!

Here is the Double
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2233/...8a0cae77_o.jpg

They are both well used features of the track that have had 'jumps' there in the past, just we felt this year to build some proper ones to liven it up a bit.

Other changes are to open up a few more lines.

Also new straight will be down on Wed

Setup for southport

Does anyone have a basic starting setup for southport. Gearing for a 5.5 x-11? springs for b44? Which tyres and inserts do most people use? Any help most appreciated.

craigosh 18-03-2008 11:20 PM

On the Bj4 i run blue front and green rear springs.
Tires are schuy yellow minispikes or grps in dry, blik green minispikes in wet.
Gearing i'm not sure about for the b44 but on my BJ with 6.5 (bonded rotor) I run 18/78.
Other setup stuff, check out Richard Lowes BJ4 Setup

Tom3012 20-03-2008 12:32 AM

i need a set-up too!!! first time out for my B44, looking foward to it! (if my dad sprays the shell in time) will have the pred in the pits just incase:thumbsup:
