New KO Tranny
New KO Tranny !!!
Looking like a must have :D Tranny can now meen 2 things when it comes to the RC World... Transmitter and Transformer !!!! KO up the bar again ??? P.S. See on Facebook with Masami, so no links etc. Sure Google will help. |
Link? It will have to go some though to beat the Esprit 3.
|
Sticks and wheel in one!

Self assembly, looks like something James Bond would get out of a brief case from Q !

And I bet it will cost £400:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown: |
was at last years toy fair :woot:
|
looks interesting, however the stick seems to be for steering, which is the easy bit with a wheel. Its the stupid trigger throttle / brake which I cant get my head around.
|
:thumbdown:thats f++king disgusting what a waste of time, most people that use stick do so because they cant use the trigger as throttle and brakes, imagine the problems we will have with the module connections,uni3 has one set of connections and 90% of people i talk to have had probs with that sorry KO epic fail,
|
Looking at the base unit and the attachements I would say that they will also have a stick throttle unit that clips into the other side of the unit.... this would make sense as there would be a connection there for left hand 'wheel' steering....
Heard it here first  |
Looks fantastic - I'll certainly have one if its not stupid money. Steerwheel of course - no sticks on mine :bored:
|
Must have!
Looks like something from Akira |
Looks cool as a steerwheel but the trigger/stick arrangment looks to have a really awkward grip :eh?:
|
Its just another steerwheel radio, no one is going to use sticks in that layout
Agree with Carl  |
So does that mean the Uni3 is the LAST KO stick radio???? :o

I can't see the link, it doesn't seem to work? Has anyone found any information elsewhere?

I've been wanting something like this for some 20 years
I've tried racing with both stick and wheel I prefer the stick for the steering and the trigger for the throttle/brake especially when racing 8th Nitro throttle response on the trigger is much better, easier to jump and throttle up to balance the car in the air But I hate the steerwheel, I just seem to oversteer and over compensate I've been racing now 30 years and use stick as this is the best for me but would deffo give this a go Spot on KO Now can Futaba release one please, I can't stand KO |
with only KO and Sanwa having high end stick radios I guess there will be one from KO. They should have a solid buyership.
It seems I am the only one who likes the new radio. I guess this will be quite interesting for people who are more familiar with gamepads. |

I wonder if its proving successful in tests? I doubt it, I bet KO just hope the fact it is unique will sell - but I predict it becoming a wardrobe filler very soon whatever is said by people pretending to like in the first 12 months (cos they're justifying the expense to themselves )
For me, the Esprit 2 type R is still the best. The next development I was hoping would be something like bloomfield is using now, not this abomination. |
looks a good idea, I did 12 months with a wheel transmitter after years of using sticks, and the throtel control is so mutch better,I used it with rallyx, mostly on dirt and had some of my best ever results, with a trigger and a wheel you can be so mutch smoother, and flow with the track, your inputs are smother, not twitchy like they can be with stick.
BUT then I started back with 10th and on grass and astro, had to go back to sticks as just couldn't keep up with the car got all crossed up with the wheel! This looks like you get the best of both, not sure if anyone set in there ways could settle with it without months of practice as I think it would feel very strange in your hands, but I think it may well be the way forward, and a great combination for future racers...stick and trigger if I could get the hang of it,I would:wub Looks Holy cow costly tho:woot::mad: |

either that or we all sit on the rostrum with steering wheels and pedals :woot: |
I think it looks cool in steer wheel layout but as a sticks user i wouldn't use it in the stick steer layout.
It would look even cooler in a proper stick layout though and i hope this isn't a gesture to say were not making sticks no more but we do have a adapter for the steerwheel!!! |
In fairness, I think if I was a radio manufacture, and I wanted to do new radios, I'd do the wheel once first. I wouldn't discontinue my existing stick radio either, but that's another debate!!
They haven't said publically if they plan to do a new stick radio or not, so time will tell on that one. Someone did ask Masami on FB, and he said he hoped so, but that's not a 100% confirmation. |
As a stick radio user, I find that when I panic using a wheel, I tend to pull the trigger rather than push it away. I can drive OK with a wheel but when I make a small error, it leads to an even bigger one! So for that reason, I prefer a conventional stick radio.
From what I understand, this will be the new KO stick radio... |
It be good to see one in the flesh once they are released, but not totally convinced is my first impression.....

Can someone add a poll to this thread, let the racing community prejudge this monstrosity. :woot: |
Looks very fuggly IMHO.. I can't see it taking off all that much tbh but who knows..
|
It's a marmite thing but at the end of the day it might work for some people. To be honest I cant imagine KO announcing it's release if they didn't know or feel it's got a market!
Just think of some of the things that have probably been tested and never seen the public eye..... For those interested, more photos here: http://www.robitronic.com/news-reade...ropo-ex-1.html |
Poll added as requested :D
|
I voted SEXY - I'm wanting to get a new steerwheel but I'm not sure this will sway me from the Sanwa M11X I was planning on getting.
|
I like it, I love my helios with drop down but that might have to be replaced for this bad boy.
I did try the M11 but i didn't like the way felt in the hand. |
I agree with those who say epic fail!:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:
Ask anyone who struggles with a wheel what they actually struggle with. 95% will tell you it is using a trigger to brake and this does nothing to fix that. Steering is better with a wheel, of that I have no doubt. Braking is the problem. So as this doesnt address the problem at all then this wins my award for the most pointless and useless innovation.:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown: |
