Changes to Oswestry Radio Car Club Track
 

We have been doing some work at the track to improve the corner at the end of the straight. The wooden boards are being replaced by a taller breeze block wall which will support a banked curve. We have also dug a footing for a wall between the main straight and the lighting pole, which will allow us to build a raised section similar to that at Kidi. All changes will be completed by the start of April when we go back outside to race...

Looks good. Is that track going to be the national track or is that grass one like usual?

I think we are all gonig down next saterday any help apreciated neil will hopefully be able to give more info. But me and jeff stayed after paul and everyone left paul finsihed offthe wall and he started the second wall while me and jeff laid the fottings for the wall infront of the rostrum the mix's were funny as they where all diffrent lol

Mum spoke to chris today at CTS tyres and we should have 35 to 45 tyres down there tommmorow lunch time.

where are the tyre's going ash?

I'd think they're going to use them to create the basic shape of the rasied areas. I've seen it done before somewhere, but can't remember where exactly.

Might be wrong though, it has been know. :lol:

We are using them to build up the basis of the jump like phil said i think neil said coventry used this princaple.

Right then my mum showed a bit of leg to a farmer and we now have about 2 1/2 tons of soil dumped by the portacabin and we have 35 tyres pilled on the track.

Dont worry, no tyres will be visible... tyres are against BRCA track design rules :)

We would obviously have liked to have the National on our permanent track but at only 650m2, this track is too small for a National and the limited access would make driver change-overs very difficult.

We got alot mreo done at the weekend but we are seriously strugerling for people and tools we need to shift alot of hardcore and soil but with 2 wheel barrows and about 6 or 7 people we are struggerling. So we have started to bank up marerial against the the wall but im sure any help would be apreciated. not sure when where next going down.

got more done today only me neil and craig turned up today but craig built part of the wall me and neil did lots of shovelling and mixing and mum made us cake and sandwiches

Lats night we moved the majority of the big pile of soil up the track onto the back corner well now ther big pile of soil is back! i asked a man with a JCB to dump us 3 buckets full down there for us so its almost as big as it was last night :thumbsup::p:p

I also took some rubble my mum dug out of our front garden and put it in the tyres on the big center jump.

Was also nice to see two none members come to help thanks to Tony Bish and Tony Parr for helping we got alot done yesterday.

I have the use of a tipper from work.

So Nick is going to sort out the hardcore from the near by quarry and were going to dump aload in the middle of the track - well in the middle of the new table type top.

This should happen before Thursday next week.

I have some pics on my phone but it is not pretty at the moment. Will post some after next week, it should be in a better state by then.

We really need more astroturf. If anyone has somne going free please let me know. I am in contact with McArdle's (where our last lot came from and who are the folks who advertise it on the BRCA website). Hopefully they can find us some.

would be interesting to see the ongoing developement of the track though...would make the finished article even more impressive;)

im sure it would be ok to test the features on saterday night if it is finished but we dont want people destroying the grass.

I wasnt in a pub lol I was at the club my mum decided to dig up our frontpath this morning so we have some rubble so we put it in the boot so we took it down the club as every little helps and as we where leaving a man with a jcb was moving some soil so we asked :p
