I see what you mean but it is the photo giving that impression, its definately straight! The moldings are very high quality :)

bigred5765 27-02-2008 01:38 PM

quality looks fantastic
but iguess the final word will be lee's when he has finished it all
sorry about the shity cam pics

DaveG28 28-02-2008 12:06 AM

Hey, grateful for any pics, great to see it!

Couple of quick questions, I assume there's a shell and a set of wheels in with the kit? Also, are the instructions in English? Or big pictures so easy to follow anyway?

Lee 28-02-2008 09:13 AM

The kit was a really good build, it really is Xray quality i am very impressed not 1 second of filing or dremelling required:thumbsup:

The only thing i would say is although the manual is written very well, they give no hints to setup, they also say stick a 1.4mm spacer under the brace for the anti squat but it does not say what a 1.4 mm spacer gives in terms of degrees. It is just small things like this but the kit is quality.

Oh and use the short cvd for the front upto the slipper it says use long for both front and rear.

Very impressed though so far:thumbsup:

DaveG28 28-02-2008 11:24 AM

Sounds good, can't wait for mine to arrive! Is it metric or imperial by the way (I assume metric as its EU?), and does it use Allen drivers? I only have metric tools!?

Doomanic 28-02-2008 11:47 AM

How much was it?

Lee 28-02-2008 11:48 AM

Yes most of it is metric there is the odd imperial grub screw here and there, mainly diffs though.

The slipper is very nice!!;)

Richard Lowe 28-02-2008 11:58 AM

Defecting Lee? :p

DaveG28 28-02-2008 12:03 PM

Does it come with any tools at all, like I say I don't have any imperial!?

Lee 28-02-2008 02:01 PM

It comes with small metric allen keys but you will need a 0.05" driver ( i think) Its just for the cvd`s and that;)

kykky 28-02-2008 02:41 PM

S4 was a conversion from a BJ4 so you had to buy a BJ4 1st if you didnt have one.
the conversion its self wasnt that expensive.

anyway back to subject now ..

:(At the moment they are only set up for electronic bank transfer, no cards or paypal, so you need to allow bank charges for this on top of price, doh.:(

Northy 28-02-2008 04:12 PM

So you'll be looking at around £450

Can anyone confirm the size? I'm going to need to buy one somewhere and don't want the wrong size!

Surely you can do a europeen Bank transfer with the IBAN / BIC details.
It shouldn't cost you that mutch.

I know It's free in my bank. But then again I'm in "ING / Belgium"

You should check with your bank tho cause last time I sent 135£ to the UK I didn't have to pay any charges at all .

stuhurley 28-02-2008 05:12 PM

according to theraceplace.co.uk website it should be in stock 01.03.08 (saturday)

Lee 28-02-2008 05:33 PM

Wraggy is right, this car is bloody expensive for what you get, there is nothing to it:o

When building the car read the instructions 3 times and then if it doesnt make sense go your own way, especially when it comes to shimming the drive train as mine was very tight as per the instructions, but now its fine:D

DaveG28 28-02-2008 06:01 PM

Any chance you can check the size of that Allen drive?

With shimming, is there a good way of setting this, I've only ever run belt drive before!? Is it similar to setting the pinion/spur gear position?

KevLee 28-02-2008 06:42 PM

You'll need a 0.05" for the CVDs, and a 1/16" for the Slipper.

DaveG28 28-02-2008 07:03 PM

Thanks mate, I'll get hold of some ASAP

Lee 28-02-2008 07:37 PM

Kecky 28-02-2008 07:42 PM

Took your time :p

Looks ace, when are you giving it a good seeing to

bigred5765 28-02-2008 08:09 PM

wait till you get to see the shell

Wraggy 28-02-2008 08:11 PM

do you not get any tires with it ???

Lee 28-02-2008 08:18 PM

No wraggy, or servo horns,or motor screws.

This is the first batch though i think these things will be picked up on:)

sparrow.2 28-02-2008 08:37 PM

Get yourself an associated diff thrust spring to try in the slipper. Made a world of difference to the adjustability and being able to get it tight enough.
