As it was with everything that was one it....

RogerM 10-11-2011 12:15 PM

For me it would be a tough call between my Optima Mid Custom Special and my Lazer ZX ... had to sell both when my father passed away as I had to stop racing.

(My Egress arrived in the shop the day after my dad died ... I never even got to hold the box)

AmiSMB 10-11-2011 12:21 PM

My original Kyosho 4wd chain driven Optima

My old Losi XX Kinwald Edition, I remember being so excited about it with all the Graphite and pretty blue parts! They even painted all the springs blue to match and it just looked awesome!

Thinking about it I'd agree with that, my orignal XX which I sold for beer money for Uni.. Think I got shot of it for £40 for a night out lol

wacattack 10-11-2011 12:37 PM

My B2. I didnt get rid of it as such. When I quit in April 1997 I leant it to Craig to run in a 1 off meeting. Apparantly it absolutely poured it down on a grass track. Needless to say it was caked in mud and when he got home he agreed to strip it down and rebuild it. 10 years later it was still partially stripped down with mud from 10 years previous. It went in the bin as most of the parts had disappeared.

For me, I wish I still had my original procat... Brand new and fresh into racing it was awesome! The vintage section on here makes me miss my old cars more... All my kit can be classed as vintage and now collectable.

Adam F 10-11-2011 01:05 PM

I think the one I regret selling the most was my Mardave Cobra TQ, my first car I ever raced properly with and it did me proud :(

JBL 10-11-2011 01:26 PM

Hahah I've got that mag too somewhere, Model Cars wasn't it!

The XX was a great car, think i had the standard one, then the XX "CR" which was then turned back to a standard car then the Kinwald one which was just lovely, remember all the nice Trinity blue bits like the battery bars, transmission braces and washers etc - Looked so good at the time haha. I always loved Kevin moore's trick of running the standard Losi wheels but with Rear discs on the front so the front wheels looked smooth....

So many memories haha.

Procat sounds awesome though, they were just coming to the end when i started and it was all Bosscats then Cat 2000's.

I sort of wish I'd kept my Pred too actually, it got my best ever result and then Lee bought it off us and went on to win the F2's with it which was good for him at the time believe it or not :D

i4n 10-11-2011 04:48 PM

Not so much sold, more "rather I hadn't left it in my parents loft when I left home to find out my Dad threw it away 2 weeks later" was my original release Tamiya Astute, would love to be running that in the vintage classes now

Jamesk 10-11-2011 05:07 PM

I have two Astute's in my parents loft, must retrive them soon, i wonder what else i have up there??

Has to be my optima mid, my dad sent it to my uncles racing team in germany to have a carbon fibre tub chassis made for it, swapped it for a kx125 when i got into motocross :(
Anyone got my optima?

Welshy40 10-11-2011 05:29 PM

The very first lazer zx / zxr tub chassis ever made attached to one of my cars. Gutted as it was the first and had cell holes in as well and as the molds been misplaced i cant easily have it made again.

DerbyDan 10-11-2011 05:55 PM

Another Losi XX regretably sold here too  Mine was an original spec XX with the Hydradrive etc.. but it gradually gained various upgrades & was converted to 'CR' spec. It was whilst I raced this car that I improved the most ability-wise - expanding my racing solely club level to eventually competing a nationals.

I sold the car to who I thought was a trustworthy club member who I let have the car having only paid 1/2 the agreed price on the promise that the rest would be paid soon afterwards..... that was the last time we saw that club member - & my beloved Losi

Northy 10-11-2011 06:21 PM

I have a Losi XX hung on the wall in the garage that has a shell on it that I recognise but don't know who's it was if that makes sense? It came off the bay.

I'll try and grab a picture of it, it might have belonged to someone on here! :woot:

Chrislong 10-11-2011 06:31 PM

I loved my Losi XXX BK2, bought off Tony Bishop, didn't get my best result with it but my average result was best it had ever been - it was standard, none of the team mods that were being used at that time, I did try them all but didn't like. Then when I changed to the X-6, it was a massive leap backwards initially as it was totally new, but even when we knew setups and ran 4 gear transmission I never got my average result back.... despite getting my single best result with the X-6 I always missed the BK2.

isobarik 10-11-2011 06:38 PM
