S2 & Atomized B44 update

We should be running at least two pre-production versions of the S2 and Atomized B44 at Coventry this weekend. This will be the final test for the cars then i can hopefully sign off the designs, and start production

If you racing at Coventry you are more than welcome to have a look at the cars, and if there is time at the end of the meeting, have a go with my S2.

grindog 22-02-2008 01:19 PM

hi jonathon, good news! Any chance you will be at the broxtowe meeting the week after?

thanks, john

surfking 22-02-2008 01:21 PM

Yeah get on. Cant wait for more on this b44

bender 22-02-2008 01:36 PM

Jonathon, is there any chance of spacing the cell a bit further apart on the S2?

I realise you are limited by the size of the tub but I noticed when I saw some pics of the car that the cells are extremely close together.

Personally, I'd be willing to sacrifice a tiny bit of performance to gain some peace of mind with regards to cells shorting out ;)

Good God:o would you be willing to let this animal loose with your S2:p.
I'd give it a good strength testing;)

On my S2 there is around a 3-4mm gap between the cell bars, if i used battery bars which are straighter then that would increase, if somebody wanted a tray with the cells a further 2mm apart for example when i could make a one off for them, but of course the cell bars would then be closer to the outer tub wall. If you just popped a little insulation tape on the bars that would stop any chance of them shorting.

The top decks have changed a little since these photos.

IceMike 22-02-2008 10:56 PM

how stiff is the Atomized B44 chassis, does it bend and flex much??

Lee 22-02-2008 11:17 PM

its a tub so i would imagine it would be very stiff;)

If you mean the pics of my S2 they do look closer together on the pic than in the flesh. If you want to have a look up close & your at Worksop on Sunday just come on over.

I THINK it's £220 for the full conversion or £199.99 w/out the shock towers letting you use the originals and ae shocks. Best to check with the man himself first!!
Worth every penny in my opinion and before you ask, i have drove the std B44 too

ashleyb4 24-02-2008 08:34 PM

my birthday is under a month :)

strobe 24-02-2008 08:48 PM

Get a B44 kit.
Sell the carbon Fibre bits, shell, undertray and Associated shocks as you don't need these.
So far i have sold all of these bar the chassis. Made £110. Kit has cost me £90 so far. Great if i could sell the Chassis. Just need the £220 for conversion.

Garry Driffill 24-02-2008 08:55 PM

i dont think ive ever had two cars like ive got now that are sooo fun to drive, look amazing and really have such a feel good factor to them.

strobe 25-02-2008 09:38 PM

Oldtimer.
Have you signed off the designs for the S2 and Atomized B44 so that they can be put into production after yesterdays test.

Chris Doughty 27-02-2008 12:56 PM

I think Jonathan might be away on business so might not reply that quickly.

leelar 10-03-2008 07:26 PM

Daniel T 10-03-2008 07:27 PM

jasonrcb 10-03-2008 08:25 PM

Jonathan, is there a reason why we'd want one without the AC shock towers? they are so much more slinky then the std ones, why keep the ugly old bits?

Just trying to give people a option to save a little cash if they need to :)

But the atomic carbon towers are thicker than the kit items and i think look nicer

GRIFF55 11-03-2008 07:20 PM

Also i can say that i have proved they take a good beating too!!
Worth the extra cash just for the look, 100%
