jimmy 28-10-2011 11:36 PM

Good question! Wonder who is goin to which? Petit has the pedigree but also claims its the last in the uk ( to me, that's a slating) so it will be interesting to see which race gets the support

/tobys 29-10-2011 07:26 AM

Are race details and entry only via the Facebook page?

JBL 29-10-2011 07:59 AM

I've stated im attending on Facebook, just waiting for the booking in system to open tomorrow... Spenner will tell us when it goes live..

After the way the Silverstone crew have been treated over this, e.g. having to find out by a public announcement that they were no longer organising the Petit race , and the way racers have been treated, e.g. being told of the change in venue after booking non-refundable hotel rooms near Silverstone , I know who I think deserves the support.

I guess from Oople's point of view for coverage it'll be more about which of the top racers are attending which event. I'm guessing Petit will have more international support.

Look at it from another point of view... The way Nicolas has been treated... kept hanging on right up till the last minute... He had the interest of everyone, especially the european drivers having to make travel arrangements and find accomodation??

If i was organising an event, THEY would be the people who took presidence in my mind! If you read Nicolas's post on the Petit thread that should be obvious... The last thing he would have wanted to do was upset people etc but i dont think he had much choice?

Im not doing Petit as i didnt like the distance to get to it, also wasnt that well run. Silverstone should be fun.

chuckie stella 29-10-2011 12:23 PM

Dear all, thank you for your support on here and Facebook. More details will be announced over the weekend I promise.

Please let the following statement be the final word from me especially on this thread!

We as a club have NO hard feelings with Nicolas.
We're not going up against Nicolas for 'top' drivers. I'm sure both meetings will be very well attended and enjoyable for all involved.

Not Long Now

Smartalec 30-10-2011 06:03 PM

How long?

spenner 30-10-2011 06:32 PM

Provisional format:

With less than 2 hours to go till booking in goes live here is the provsional format. (So you have an idea what you are booking in for)

Saturday:

2wd:
1 x 5 min practice
4 x Qualifying Rounds
1 x Final (except A final which is 3 legs)

Short Course: (Run over two days!!)
1 x 5 min practice
3 x Qualifying Rounds

Sunday:

4wd:
1 x 5 min practice
4 x Qualifying Rounds
1 x Final (except A final which is 3 legs)

Short Course: (Continued from Saturday)
1 x 5 min practice
1 x Qualifying Round (Gives total of 4)
1 x Superpole Qualifying round (3 best consecutive laps over 5 min run)
1 x Final (A + B finals from normal qualifying)
1 x Superpole final (All 20 cars in one final over set number of laps, grid decided by superpole qualifying round)

This is provisional, but at the moment this is so you have an idea before booking in. So if you book in for Short Course be aware it is sat and sun!!!

2wd Short Course only i am afraid.... (For this year)

Smartalec 30-10-2011 06:40 PM

Will there be pictures of the venue later or is it to be kept a secret (again)? ;)

spenner 30-10-2011 06:51 PM

You will need to speak to Mulder and Skully about that .....

Having not seen it myself i have been told it's large, has walls and a roof, plus concrete floors.

Pictures will be released once the X files have been released

I have!! Is that ok, Alec?

It's a warehouse, mate. Surely they have them in your neck of the woods?

spenner 30-10-2011 07:33 PM

Thankfully we have a good but small committee and someone else visited the venue. I must have been busy working that day, otherwise a few laps to try the concrete would have been nice. Guess i will have to wait like everyone else.

spenner 30-10-2011 07:46 PM
