Bullistorm ESC
Has anyone seen or used one, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bullistorm...item4aaf747037 any reviews welome, seems to cheap!!!!
|
Looks just like a hobby wing or speed passion to me... Gotta be worth a punt at £37 quid posted.. Maybe it's because they're a terrible colour :woot:
|
I don't care about the colour :), I share your thoughts of what it looks like but don't want to waste my money, I've tried looking for reviews online but can't seem to find much info about these, its only going in a short course truck that was a prize  .
|
It says it will run 1s on the ESC but doesn't mention it in the spec list. I would like a 1s ESC but wouldn't risk buying one on that vague discription!
|
For the money its definitely worth a punt. If you do get it and it works let us know :) Go on, be that guinea pig!

That's the one I had my eye on. It's to go in a Dave. I'm guessing it would still need a BEC deceive to help power the servo? Like this one.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Voltage-Bo...item3a6ae5d22f |
Ive got one
think i paid £17 for mine on a german ebay listing its a copy of xerun 60a comes with 422 stock supercharged software my fan never worked instant burning smell  thought i killed it :o bought replacement fan from giant cod and wired direct to battery input wires ran with 17.5 stock TC no issues its now in my dave 1S powered i use a reciver pack and you need to turn OFF voltage detection seems to be fine yet to race in anger but testing seem OK UPDATE just tried 1s without receiver pack Yes it appears to work OK hope this helps fid |
I purchased one of those 120A ones.. hopefully the loverly colour will get the daughter/wife into racing :woot:
Its on its way, Ill hook it up and do a bit of a review when its tested |

Here we go
my 120A turned up today http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...a/IMAG0464.jpg Ill solder it up and give it a test soon Will be interesting if it works with the speed passion program card or the turnigy/hobbywing one http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...a/IMAG0465.jpg WOW opened it up and it looks just like my speed passion esc, even the manual looks just the same.. hopefully the quality is as good and its just a rebranded/repackaged one |
Good work!
If it works just as well as your SP i think they will be selling loads in the near future :) |
Soldered it up and did a bench test.
One negative is that the solder tabs are soldered on so they may move when you are soldering Fans + and - were the wrong way, well it didn't work how it was suppose to so I fliped the plug works fine and not too loud Worked fine with the turnigy lcd box I have, it seems to have 422 stock on it, I may try changing it to the latest SP or HW software later |

Keep the updates coming! :) |
i have a second on the way with 17.5 motor and card £33 60 a version
my first is in a dave on 1s updated to latest 930 stock software i too had fan problems didnt think about swopping plug wires  wired direct to battery input wires at speedo as previous post my solder was higher melt point than posts on speedo itself so be careful when soldering i dont think quality is any where near HW as its blatant copy but my first one cost £17 so it was worth a shot regards dave |
Test run today with fan and a 6.5 in my dex210 2wd... yes too much but thats all I had. stock 87 and 22/21/20 T pinion then a bearing blew in the diff house.
Anyway Im real happy with it, it accepts my speed passion LCD box and the turnigy one tested quickly. Still haven't tried installing other software yet. Highly recommended 120A esc for the time being. Long term test and race weekend coming up will tell. Another test on sunday Im going to look at haveing it in the car permantly or for a while at least. Tomorrow Ill redo the wiring and shorten the leads as I used the supplied ones that are about 15-20cm 60A esc with 17.5T motor will go the touring car for my son, when it arrives, maybe in the spare 4wd later on |
I have also Bullistorm 8,5T sensored motor and tried it at club race in my B4XL with Hobbywing Justock ESC. It works really good for the money, had enough power for jumps, really satisfied with it. Next time i will test the 60A bullistorm esc, i have allready one.
|
Dobber > I have just ordered a 120a one to go in my old Cougar 2 that I will bring down to SHRCC next week with me. Everything looks identical to my Hobbywing 120A units in my SX3 and SV and includes the same items in the packaging (pre cut servo tape etc) so these could be the best value units yet!!!
|
Nice one, I'll look forward to seeing it in action next week. They do seem amazing value for money if they are reliable :)
|
Just received program box and checked software on the 60A version. It has 518stock program, I changed it to 930 MOD

get 2 in 1 program LCD box ( if you havent got one ) load hobbwing software programme on laptop or PC connect to car via usb and bingo !!
if you need more help PM me ill talk you through it theres lots of info and vids on you tube remember these are a blatant copy of HW products but the software does work regards dave |
How long it did take to get this delivered?
|
About 14-20 days
|
my 60 A + 17.5t sensored motor arrived it was about 3 weeks (normal for HK stuff if sent free)
not wired up yet dont expect too many problems as i already have one regards Dave |
Got it sorted I used a usb cable that didn't work.. banging my head as it wouldn't connect to the PC and in the process of the frustration of a late night and little stess I connected the + and - wrong and fried it
Anyway I was really happy with it in the few training runs I got at the track. Unfortunately I couldn't give it race condition testing. I have now updated the 60A I have to V3 mod software, with what this software did for my motor temps with the SP esc I hope I won't have any problems with it and a 8.5 LRP x12 later this week. Hopefully I can use the caps from it as back ups to the SP esc. |
I have now installed the 17.5 and the 60A for the son, but when I have that motor connected I get one red light on all the time and a constant beeeeep/tone.
Anyone know what the problem is? I have tested another esc and another motor and narrowed it down to the motor, what could it be? |
May be the board in the motor some thing may have come un-soldered when attaching the motor wires.
|
So how are things going so far with this speedo??
I'm thinking of trying one on a SP 7.5 in my B44 |
I might be ordering some from the manufacturers if anyone is interested, they look like a good buy.
|
bullistorm
Tomorrow I have race with my bullistorm 60A esc with SP 6,5T in my B4XL. Then I let you know how perform it :-)
|
still waiting on mine being delivered, i think they strapped it to a tortoise and sent it on its way!!
|
it will be 3 weeks delivery i could have fetched on my bike quicker !!
mine installed in mardave ready to go now with 15.5 1s powered as previous post plug fan in wrongway round into socket or it wont work (my first one died this way ) if your running in buggies watch your settings mine came with 422 stock which may be heavy power wise in a buggy on 6.5 motors im only using in mardaves and tc at moment in buggy i will stick to xerun 120 from racer in exile or giant cod there is a reason there only £30 :D regards dave |
i've just won a 120a with prog card for £27.00
do i need to change the software before use? which is advised..? also it seems there are a few reports of the fans packing up on 1st use can any one confirm over wise? if it works happy days |
just put the kettle on and wait for 3 weeks it will turn up ;) mine always have i have 3 now :D
when you wire up leave fan un plugged to test and set up endpoints etc . when ready gently plug in fan wrong way round be ready to pullout swiftly all of mine have had to be plugged in reverse to work not sure what software comes on 120 a i have 60 a and they have 422 stock with turbo functions enabled poss a speedo killer on a modified motor pm me if you need more info regards dave |
bullistorm
So, today we had race on carpet. I raced B4 with T4 chassis. ESC was Bullistorm 60A, motor SpeedPassion 6,5T. I put 930MOD software. I finnished on 3. place without problems with this ESC  Love it for the price :p
|
I thought you would have to have the 120A with a 6.5T motor.
Nice to see that the 60A is working fine, maybe with that stock software it runs hot. Im going to have to try that with my 2WD/8.5 and maybe a 6.5 in a 4wd but that I am thinking will be too much for the esc. |
so whitch to bye Bullistorm 120A or hobbywing 120A is the same quality as the hobbywing ESC or a cheap chinezzzz copy....:confused::confused:
