Will be there with the X2C, needs a bit of work to get it spot on, but it's good enough to race now. Let's hope for good weather!

Disco-Panda 24-10-2011 03:06 PM

Mikey you have a pm

mikeyscott 24-10-2011 03:46 PM

Hi,

Regarding the winter series, it will be the same format re timing as Summer Series I expect. So essentially people arriving trackside from circa 7am onwards. We generally get the club timing stuf setup between 07:30 - 08:00 and once Martin has checked the track it's open for practice. Booking in aims to close at circa 09:00 with racing starting at 09:30. Between 09:00 and 09:30 we sort any issues and have drivers briefing.

Any question, please ask on here on email [email protected]

Martin will probably be requesting people to park away from the track and then pit under you gazebo/tents etc. trackside.

I'll let Martin 100% confirm this.

Mike

DragonRider 24-10-2011 06:00 PM

Any pics of the the new features and track layout, please:drool:

M.Andrews 24-10-2011 06:09 PM

Is it a new track layout or an altered track????.

martin so16 24-10-2011 06:10 PM

parking will be the same as the summer series unload and park up down the bottom or aong the fence side please dont park in the flyers area which is to the left when you come down the main track.

all going to plan the new track will be done on satarday

Are you planning on putting in extra jumps:thumbsup::thumbsup: which are at the moment next to the race control?.

DragonRider 24-10-2011 06:19 PM

Not too many jumps please as some of us are just starting to learn how to drive again after a large time away.

All up for this as really enjoyed my first outing at torch 2 weeks ago.

Time can not move fast enough.

jamiekerr14 24-10-2011 06:22 PM

Jumps and new features will bring more people down. And not be you *Average* track. It will become-can you remember ... ect.

The track is always great, and after speaking to a few on sunday. It sounds like there are some good ideas that could be done for sunday. Which will be great! and I can see TORCH becoming even more of a top caliber track IMHO.

martin so16 24-10-2011 06:30 PM

o yes more jumps was what every one wants at torch so this is what we will do we have three new jumps to go in and thats why we have to do a new track lay out plus i havent changed it for months

mikeyscott 24-10-2011 06:49 PM

We always try to strike the balance so that all can enjoy it. I have been to a few tracks were only the pros can drive it....

MrMagoo 24-10-2011 07:17 PM

Martin and the TORCH crew do a great job, the track now is so much better than it was and just keeps improving. The jumps are all do-able, if you aren't sure just slow down and roll them, there's nothing 'do-or-die' on the track, no tricky doubles etc. Hats of to the guys, I'm stunned by what's happened at the club since I first turned up 12 months back.

almo1985 24-10-2011 07:24 PM

Will be there in 2wd, been a few weeks since I got down to torch and have been missing it. Am looking forward to a new layout to get my teeth into.

Roll on Sunday!

Belive me when I say I have no dis-respect for the TORCH Crew. My son and myself were made very welcome 2 weeks ago when we went to try out off-road buggies. For me a proper attempt at Off-Roading since the mid '90s.

At the end of the day I and my son will race the track what ever obsticle is in the way.

Even though TORCH is nearly an hour and a half away I'm hoping to join and TORCH to be our local club. (If they will have us of course).

Sorry if it sounded like I was whining (I am not a touring car driver...LOL)

See you all on Sunday.

Mark

The plan to change the design totally and advance some features, our Torch main member base is the average racer and would not benefit with a too challenging track in relation to its features. We have a major change installed that will make the track quite different, all will be revealed on Sunday.

The main aim is always to keep the balance between all levels of abilities. Remember if we dont get it right, its easy to change for next time.

The Torch AGM is on the 11th November at the Chase Pub in Waltham Chase. All members are welcome to come and join in with adding any opportunities for 2012.

Details of AGM will be sent shortly to by email.

Thanks Steve

TARTMAN 24-10-2011 11:42 PM

Loving it.

Having only raced once at torch, after a 22 year away from the track, i have to say it was great, jumps a little iffy at 1st, but after a few heats i was jumping them easily. Maybe a little to enthusiastically at times thou, oooops......
So keep it up, I am sure it will be great no matter what changes are done.

See you all sunday, now just need to decide if its a 2wd cougar, or Martins old cat sx3 that gets a blast..... hmmmmm????

Stuweatherman 25-10-2011 08:20 AM

Have there been any thoughts on having an online booking in section on the torch site to help aid booking in?? If linked with say paypal or something people could book in for the series and pay upfront thus speeding up the start of the day.

Also could mean provisional lists could be produced before the event.

A good plan.
All hail the triple! .. :woot:

jamiekerr14 25-10-2011 09:28 AM

Yeah the online booking in could be a good idea, or even a Email to send.

:Name
:Class
:Date

If not raced there before.
:PT
:Car

And that then could give you guys more of a idea on how many will be showing up, and could aid in speeding up booking in. I know some people do it already, but may be worth pushing people to do that more? It could be a slightly cheaper route than, getting people to pay online and so on.

Either way, big pat on the back to the TORCH Committee you guys have done a sterling job. And it has changed drastically since I 1st came last year I think it was. And can only get better!

Are you racing the 410 v3 this weekend Mikey?. How are the new cars going?.

mikeyscott 25-10-2011 06:23 PM

Haven't got one and haven't finished my 210.

511 this weekend then 2wd I think . Failing that xxcr this weekend

Cancelled it

Chris-S 25-10-2011 07:29 PM

If the weather is playing ball, I'll be there with the 210.

ASKay 25-10-2011 07:33 PM

I was thinking about using my 210, but it will depend upon spares and wheels being available, so unlikley at present.....

so 4WD for me I am guessing....

TARTMAN 25-10-2011 07:34 PM

I'd like to come down but as some of you will be turning up trackside, Myself and Lei will be turning in after a long nights clubbing in london at the Torture Garden Halloween Ball:thumbsup::thumbsup:

TARTMAN 25-10-2011 08:20 PM

SO?

Its a sort of see what its like the day before and go from there then.......

jamiekerr14 25-10-2011 08:22 PM

Yes, best bet is to keep checking on here on friday/saturday and see what the decision is. Unless its raining on sunday.. TORCH is very good for drainage. And can be pritty dry within 30 mins of so.. but everyone will have to play it by ear..

mikeyscott 25-10-2011 08:49 PM

Anyone got a spare 210 shell lol
