Dr_UpGrade 17-10-2011 05:12 PM

Hi Neil,
I can make it this week too... Let me know if you still need hands to help prep... I might also have a few extra jumps (well one jump!) to see if you want to include it.. (will need covering with some carpet but, if I get it finished, I'll bring it along)...

Streeter 17-10-2011 05:15 PM

I'll be there for around 6.15 so if theres anything still to do i'll give you a hand.

focusmad 17-10-2011 05:37 PM

We got carpet! . What have you got and more importantly will it go on the back of your bike?

i'm looking at nitro cars as we speak:p

Dr_UpGrade 17-10-2011 08:12 PM

Hey Neil,
Had a few bits of spare thick plywood and some old spare cut offs of decking, so out came the jigsaw and made a few (one for starters) of those kicker jumps I've been going on about... Just have to get some thin ply to cover them with and jobs a good'un!

Be good to see how it works when covered in carpet!

Then I can (if wanted) make a few more different ones with whats left of the cut offs!

jlucas 17-10-2011 08:42 PM

Massive table top please

Dr_UpGrade 17-10-2011 08:50 PM

Lets see how far the cars fly on the one I've got set up for now - taht is if/when I get the thin plywood! Its about 3x car height, with a nice swept kicker lip to it and then I've got enough to certainly make one 5-6x car height..). So things could get quite airbourne!!

All we have to do is try and find something suitable for longer landing ramps and see where we place them! I wqas thinking of some 'simple' basic triangle ramps for landing again with whats left of the thin plywood on them to help cushion the landing... Suck it and see a bit I reckon...:D

Dudders 17-10-2011 08:57 PM

Bring what you have as we have all the ramps from the old RC Arena... lots of ply covered in carpet...

Dr_UpGrade 17-10-2011 09:07 PM

Will do! Just hope the car lasts longer this week too! I wanna play on the jumps!! Will try to get there as early as I can too to help sort out setting up the ramps... (inc gluing/tacking down the carpet on my jump)...:)

Deano577 17-10-2011 09:08 PM

Here's one for all you ramp builders

Dr_UpGrade 17-10-2011 09:14 PM

LOL, but we don't have a tree to jump thru' indoors!!!! (but I do like it for next season outside!!!!)

RobW 18-10-2011 08:29 AM

Hi matey,

Yes, power no problem, plenty of chair and tables

Be good to see you up... Fastrax tyres maybe? :D

We're not running half term as I am away, sorry  Bring him this week.... he'll only need to get through one school day without falling alseep

RobW 18-10-2011 09:22 AM

Thanks, Neil

Yes, need to get some practice both driving indoors and with Fastrax tyres:D

I'll have to come up with another plan for getting Jack some indoor carpet running before the MK GP - not sure if I can persuade the missus to let me keep him out until 11.30 on a school night - she has the job of getting him up in the mornings and for some reason does not understand how important model car racing is

Cheers

Rob

Lino has been purchase for some more slippy stuff as it went down so well last time. This stuff will be polished when first laid and left like it for a few weeks at a time. The shiny board can be used in other places...

Also have some cardboard rolls to roll the carpet up on at the end of a nights racing.

Excited!!! Can we start tonight

jlucas 18-10-2011 05:39 PM

no Not more slippery polished stuff! That's my kryptonite! ;)

Dudders 19-10-2011 03:02 PM

You love it!.... James Rumble said if I get the lino shiney enough he'll throw some ill shapes on it afterwards

Got some other bits and bobs today..... should be fun tomorrow... just hope the foam arrives in time :woot:

All: We'll be doing 3 heats and 2 finals for all tomorrow, so those who like to go early get a final in and then have the choice to stay/go.

TARTMAN 19-10-2011 04:15 PM

Dr_UpGrade 19-10-2011 06:39 PM

Hi all, planning on racing tonight for my first time at SHRCCC. I see on your site the postcode is GU9 9LG, I assume this is for the outdoor track, but I gather the indoor is on the same site, is this right?

Yes, same site, the building is a little further along lower weybourne lane than the postcode tells my sat nav though, your looking for a sea cadet building next to the fishing club.
only 1 building on the site so you cant miss it

Alternatively go on google maps (93 lower weybourne lane) in satellite view, thats the building your looking for!
