X2C Set ups

Here is a fully editable sheet for the X2C/Monkey

Would someone like to test it out and make sure it all work properly. Will finish off my X4TE one and do an X2 when I get chance (They take fapping ages to put all the stuff on )

Anyways should help with the set-up posting.

Too big to attach I am afraid so here is a link - Right click save as:

Hi Robbie
The sheet seems to work ok for me, but adobe reader won't let me save a copy with the details on? Only print it.
Is this something that can be changed or do you need the full Adobe kit to be able to save the files?
would be a handy feature to add if possible

Robbiejuk 13-10-2011 09:10 PM

Oh nuts. I will have a play when I get back to work tommorow. Tested at work but obviously I have full version so they worked fine there :D. Will have a look.

I used the mid car and was using the standard small bore shocks with standard springs.

PaulUpton 07-11-2011 03:39 PM

Danny what oil did you use?

Ansmann stuff. Seems really good. Only difference is its cav and not what we are all used too. I think it's about 35 front, 32 rear.

That makes more sense now

Kusal 08-11-2011 10:40 PM

What was the rebound you used?
Full, none, 50%...

Very little. I probably ran about 15mm rebound. Its not something i really play about with. I tend to just bleed the shocks and make sure they rebound the same.

Smartalec 11-11-2011 12:02 PM

Dan have you flipped the wishbones on your x2c and put the rear shocks in front of the tower?

No pal. It's standard. Not thought about trying that as I think I'd struggle with steering anyway.

Are you going to be racing on carpet? If so then i would be temped to stiffen up the oil a little as the car did pitch quite a bit on the slippery track at worksop. It always seems to be the way that i like my car to handle there.

Maybe going up "50" on the oils would do the trick.

Danny

LewisStrong 14-11-2011 10:15 AM

Cheers Danny. Will give it a go.

Dandare 11-12-2011 11:47 PM

I'm racing at Stotfold (astro) for the 1st time on sunday for the winter series & i wondered what weight oil to use in big bore shocks on an x2c (currently using 30w front & rear), plus any other tried & tested hints for a good base set up would be appreciated :D ?

Dan.

SamRCRacing 26-12-2011 11:44 PM

Has anyone got any base astro and grass setups for tracks in mid south?
Sam

racingben 30-12-2011 07:34 AM

Sam on the old layout at torch I ran this setup on my mad monkey. I was about 5 seconds off tq with this.

Springs - ansmann x2c black front and ansmann soft (purple) rear
Piston 2 hole STD
Oil 30 rear 20 front
Shock positions inner hole top outer hole wishbone front and rear
Links in kit positions
1degree neg camber rear, 2 neg front front wheels parallel.
80 grams of weight on servo.
Yellow minispike rear - blue insert
Yellow stagger front - no insert

I titled the shocks over to make it less nervous on corner entry but the compromise was that the shocks being tilted in meant the rebound reduced and the car jacked down over bumpy sections and bottomed out. Hence the very low oil ratings to prevent this. The thinner I went on the oil, the better the car was.

Given more testing I'd probably have played with standing the shocks up again and played with the damping a little more. Alas I've moved so no more TORCH for me.

Hoping to buy an x2c in the next few weeks and race at stotfold.

SamRCRacing 01-01-2012 02:31 PM

I need a bit of practice on astro for the 2012 season, Ill take it up footie astro later on this month.

Cheers

Danny,

Could you please post both your setups from the Area 51 race?! Thanks.

How was the grip level? Are you using Schumacher springs on the BB? If so, why? Are they direct fit?
