Big G 04-10-2011 05:05 PM

good to see the driveshafts have multiple holes on to extend the life of them

sly 04-10-2011 05:26 PM

I see the old style inserts from the schumachers of yesteryear are back, but i do like:drool:
Good effort with the kit page, time well spent me thinks.

Couple of questions.

Can the rear hub and captured pin drive shaft be crossed over the the DEX410 but with the 61mm driveshaft being used instead of the dex210`s 65mm shaft?

What does the team think or prefer, Ball diff or the geared diff?

what size is the kit spur gear and is it the same design as the 410?

Thanks in advance.

008-Racer 04-10-2011 06:18 PM

Thank god I pre ordered!!

This thing is a thing of beauty, roll on delivery day

SHY 04-10-2011 06:27 PM

That demo video is just sooooooo cool! Best RC product video ever made!!!

The lipo must sit on foam strips or similar in order to allow a passage for the speedo receiver wire, otherwise it wouldn't sit flat?

Looks like a 87T in the photos and the same as the DEX410 spur to me

The photo shown is a pre-production car. The final versions have a groove in the chassis.

Correct!

Adam Skelding 04-10-2011 07:35 PM

The hubs won't fit the 410. The wishbones are different.

adam you have a pm

sparrow.2 04-10-2011 08:53 PM

Good god am I glad I preordered as well.

Any chance of getting front axles to fit associated wheels or is the offset different? It would be nice to be able to use what I have. Rear wheels should fit if you remove the hex, no?

tangled 04-10-2011 09:03 PM

One minor and quick question from a newbie just about to receive his first decent car...

What size turnbuckle wrench should I purchase for use with the 210..?

Cheers!

jonathan may 04-10-2011 09:05 PM

i would think it would come with one

acorn28 04-10-2011 09:11 PM

If the turnbuckles are the same size as the 410 you'll need a 4mm wrench.

daz 04-10-2011 09:34 PM

Or a pair of mole grips.

Fozzy1989 04-10-2011 09:38 PM

Pretty sure u will need allen and turnbuckle wrenches as somebody has said above, the DEX410 didn't come with them

tangled 04-10-2011 09:40 PM

Open-ended 4/5mm Britool miniature open-ended spanner duly purchased on eBay...

(Cheaper than most turnbuckle wrenches, too.)

Think I just bought the last one, but here's the link;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1305042087...84.m1497.l2649

Am sure there'll be alternatives.

Cars at these levels should be built with proper tools rather than the small bent Allen keys. It doesn't have to be expensive, I have just bought some of the hpi tools and they were only £5 each.

I agree got a full set of allen drivers, just didn't have the right size turnbuckle wrench. Was just pointing it out as he said he was a newbie:)

burniburn 04-10-2011 10:25 PM

Can't wait for the kit to arrive from SMS... I guess France will not be the first to receive the kits.

Thanks anyway, will keep an eye out for one

Adam,
Are the optional rear hubs going to be like the stock rear hubs in terms of using the insert to adjust toe angle?

Dayton

+1  I'm really glad I pre-ordered one as well - this car will be the best build yet for me I think! :) Well worth the money!

I'm sure TD have thought it through, but I was just wondering how well the inserts would stand up to the hard use: Won't the suspension become sloppy (because there now are additional seperate parts everywhere in the suspension, or the other way around, inserts become stuck inside the uprights, hub suspension blocks etc. due to dust, dirt and grit?

Could someone confirm the size of the drivers needed to complete the kit please
Am switching from imperial so would be good to know the sizes of the new tools i need to buy, i am thinking 1.5, 2, 2.5 & 3 but it would be good to have it confirmed :)
