looking good!

Running the front axle in the "2/2" config you need to put 2 spacers in front of the castor block and 2 behind or it will alter the wheelbase and may cause binding on full lock !

This is a great read Steve. Thank you very much. Please keep it going through to completion. :)
|
No question i will do it (like i did for the DEX 410), but it will take time, because of too many business......
|
Are you going to use any kind of servo saver on the 1251? I've heard of the 210 killing these servos unless you use a saver. My mate Stu (Gainsy on here) is running one in his 210 with a saver and it's fine but I have heard of a few who didn't and the servos got murdered....
The Savox 1258 seems to be the servo of choice for these cars with no saver fitted. |
I ran a 1251 in my DEX210 for a for about 10 packs. But before going to MK I changed to my 1258. As its generally a tad tougher and helps put a bit more weight at the front. But yeah the 1258 is a popular choice..
|
I recommend the 1258 too, or get the align DS610 same thing slightly cheaper.

Hi Steve great thread:thumbsup:, it's hard to see on the photos but you've not stuck on the diff rings with black grease have you? You don't want that stuff anywhere near the diff balls I'd say.
|
Thanks!
I'm not sure what you mean with Diff rings, because i know this word only from DEX 410 and not from the 210, so maybe my English is not good enough..... Which part do you mean where i forgot the black grease? |
Post 26 pic 3 looks like you have black grease there

I don't think fitting the shocks in front of the tower is such a good idea; They will be the first thing hitting anything!
On my Akularacing tower I have put shocks in the normal rear configuration and with the camber links up front. No problems after to sessions of racing. |
I try this config it is NOT working at my DEX 210, i have contact between the parts.....:o
|
4WD shocks on the 410 are up front

That is how I have it also and it works nicely. You might need to chamfer the edge for the camber link mount (to clear the link).
Regarding the DEX410 having the shocks in front of the tower that is given due to the 4WD with drive shafts in the front. The tower and then the shocks are situated further back on the DEX410 and therefore better protected on front impacts. |
I will try it again, thanks for your input....
|
If you put the shocks on the front of the tower then the trajectory of the lower arm and the shock are different. This means the damper becomes less and less efficient into bump but at the same time increases side load and friction. So no point in doing it.
