Excellent news that the mid-east is soon to have another venue, I have registed on the forum and had a gander through it but can't find any real info about the track, or pictures.

With the track being aimed at RallyX as well as tenth electric my concern is that will it be able to cater for both? Most rallyX tracks I know of are normaly to big and bumpy for tenth.

Are the guys from the club who have built the track RallyX's or Buggy racers?

Please tell more.........

ianplimmer 09-02-2008 10:12 PM

dont worry rich ill try and get them to make it electric friendly if we can

antnee 09-02-2008 11:01 PM

Might be an idea to set your forum so guests can read posts, more people will be interested then

ianplimmer 09-02-2008 11:32 PM

i thought that aswell antnee, ill have a word with mark in the morning

Mark@Derby 10-02-2008 08:08 AM

ok slow down guys the forum has been running for 3/4 days now and the track isnt set up to cater for drivers to use yet ... once there is a usable track the post code for the site will be posted and as the guest thing with forum i will get on to that
the track is going to be fully astro terf .. and we will keep the track nice for your 1/10 buggy/trucks

lol .. talking about the straight .. its LONG !! bigger than J28/deardale about twice the size as burton ...

RSharpy 10-02-2008 08:06 PM

Lol, plenty of space for overtaking!

Are you guys planning a fixed track or one that can be changed?

dbizzle5 12-02-2008 10:46 PM

This is good news! A permanent astro track in the region! Will it be available to use outside of race days for practice or have these things not been decided yet? Cant wait to see what this is going to be like!

ianplimmer 12-02-2008 10:54 PM

track will be open for practice every weekend when there is not a race meeting on, hopefully electric will be fine on the track as its going to be all astro with any luck

ill be using electric aswell so ill try and have some input so tracks leccy friendly

dbizzle5 12-02-2008 11:02 PM

JonB 12-02-2008 11:15 PM

so if any one knows of any going please let me know

nottmboy 21-02-2008 09:15 PM

hi give this guy a call its all used probably very heavy and you need to collect i think. have you seen how much this stuff costs new £1500 for a 30m x 2m length :o so even with lorry hire etc its going to be cheap

We have 6000m coming up in High Wycombe mid Feb is this of any interest

RSharpy 07-03-2008 09:41 PM

The track looks good for eigth rally x, but to big and fast for electric buggy:confused: good work though:thumbsup:

Mark@Derby 07-03-2008 10:03 PM

yeah maybe a little but we have to work on it yet loads more ..

RSharpy 07-03-2008 10:49 PM

Mark am I right in saying the pic is taken from the rostrum?

Looking at it, what you have in effect is 3 straights closest to the rostrum and the infield furthest away. I'd say to make it buggy friendly you'd need to lose 2 of the straights.

To make it interchangable between both classes why not have the infield next to the rostrum and the 3 straights furthest away? Then both eight rally x and tenth electric could race on it, losing 2 straights furthest away for the buggys.

Or 1 closest and 2 furthest away?

Just my initial thoughts from looking at the pics. What do other people think? any input?

Mark@Derby 08-03-2008 08:27 AM

the pic doesnt do it justice .. we timed the lap with a non racer with 1/8th buggy and it came out with a 55sec lap
we put the strait lane in front as its where the pit lane is and we tryed to keep the jumps in clear sight

dont get me wrong no matter what we do it will never be right for every one this is why it would of been nice if racers could have come and lend a hand and put some ideas in to it

Mark

RSharpy 08-03-2008 08:33 AM

Thats a good point about keeping the jumps visable. Will have to pop down and have a look although am busy this weekend looking at wedding venues with the future Mrs Sharp:wub

Are you able to get to the track in the week or would it be locked up?

ianplimmer 08-03-2008 02:51 PM

gate is locked but park outside and walk to track for a look
