juniors races

Will there be any junior races this sunday? thinking of bringing my little lad for his first go?

mikeyscott 30-08-2011 09:24 AM

I "may" be there, but it's my father's 65th birthday coming up next week

Juniors, we always try an accomadate them where possible, either through their own heat if enough juniors are theree etc.

racingben 30-08-2011 11:50 AM

Hoping to come along but not likely as I'm away working from Thursday to Saturday.

Shame as I've modified the monkey so that it has x4pro roll bars front and rear. Can't wait to try it out. Hoping if the weather is good I can get a bit of running in on the silverstone track on Thursday evening.

ASKay 30-08-2011 09:23 PM

Hoping to be there, blown my servo:o, so trying to get a replacement (low profile) and spare in time, (also need to bring my membership forms and cash for TORCH)...

freddie 30-08-2011 09:26 PM

i will come down if the weather is good !!

Hi, we were thinking of coming down on Sunday to have a go. The boys have not done off road before, apart from in the garden  but race 1/10 touring cars. Craig has an Evader EXG (2wd) with a 10.5 which I am assuming is OK but young Ross(Junior) has an HPI Blitz (2wd) with Dakar rally bodyshell which I am not sure if that would be allowable?? No idea what motor is in it but I could upgrade it to a 10.5 for the meet if the chassis is OK.

I see on the website you need to be there by 9; is the track open earlier for practice?

Cheers, Pete

MrMagoo 31-08-2011 06:40 AM

Hey Pete, John Clarke (ex of Skandia) here. Would be good to see you and catch up. If you need a car I have an Ansmann two wheel drive that you're welcome to borrow.

No racing for me now.

Taking little one to cinema to see 'the wiggles'. Four grown ozzy men in different coloured jumpers that started doing some kids shows to earn a couple of bucks before university - ended up selling more albums than kylie!

Wil be thinking of you guys as I sing along to classics such as 'hot potato', 'fruit salad' and 'wake up Jeff!' :D*

* will be having a great time with Shelby so probably won't give you a second thought.:p

yellowshark 01-09-2011 10:43 PM

Hi John, well that was surprise! albeit a pleasant one; some good deciphering by you there;). Thanks for the offer on the car, I will pm you to sort some details.

dibble34 02-09-2011 09:18 AM

I hope to be there. Racingben i just opened my xx4 and you left your link lead for the saddle packs in there. You planning to come back to Torch at all?

MrMagoo 02-09-2011 11:54 AM

Are you bringing the laptop along Dibble? Would like to give the speedo a once over after the issues last time out!

Pete- no problem. I'm camping on the IoW till Saturday and internet access is patchy so appologies if my redponses take some time! The car is all set to go just need to add Rx and calibrate the speedo.

The Chef 02-09-2011 11:59 AM

i'M HOPING THE WEATHER WILL BE KIND.

Dudders 02-09-2011 12:08 PM

Need a PC going down to TORCH from me this weekend. Can anybody help?

The Chef 02-09-2011 12:09 PM

Do you want one taking down? I can do it.

Please mate, CPU, 17" plus normal bits. Let's talk tonight. Thanks fella.

The Chef 02-09-2011 12:22 PM

You do mean that you would like me to take it down to someone don't? Not that you need one taking down to use? As I only have a mac.

Where are you now?

Dudders 02-09-2011 12:26 PM

Just off to solicitors so I'm out for the rest fo the day and evening. Yes, need a small system taking down to pass to Spongebob aka Mr Crabb.

The Chef 02-09-2011 12:54 PM

I'll chuck it in the car mate.

simoncrabb 03-09-2011 08:37 AM

Ahh, PC via Chef, ace, perfect, thanks.

I'll ensure I remember Chef''s and stuff for Dudders too!

And stuff for everyone else too!

We've got a 15% off motors offer on at the moment, which WILL be valid trackside at TORCH on Sunday.

The Chef 03-09-2011 08:44 AM

Hi John I have PM'ed you

yellowshark 03-09-2011 12:55 PM

Hi guys what would be a reasonable starting FDR for the track 2WD with 10.5 & non timing speedo (ie what I would call Gen2 - Nosram Pearl). Cheers Pete

Hi, not been to the club before, but there's a few of us thinking of coming down tomorrow, are there any rules we should be aware of ? control tyres etc ?

They seem to be a very nice motor for the money. A couple of people have said that they are very good.

I'll get me one of those:)

No rules with tyres, only on the summer championship we use Schumacher Controlled tyres, most important rule it's fun and relaxed atmosphere, Other than the usual 1/10th rules,

chris_dono 03-09-2011 02:44 PM

cheers :) see you in the morning !

ASKay 04-09-2011 05:10 PM

With todays bad weather, what worked best for people tyre-wise?

I heard someone in the 4WD say that cut staggers was a bad idea, once they had tried them?

Dudders 04-09-2011 05:15 PM

Judging by what came through Farnham at 11.00am you guys needed life bouys rather than tyres!

Shocking just shocking. Did 2 heats and gave it up. Gutted I so wanted to race today. Tried D boots they were ok should have stuck to D-boots on the rear and a yellow mini spike on the front.

ASKay 04-09-2011 05:21 PM

I ran ballistics on rear and sch yellow minispikes on the front, and loads of Understeer ... but then i am still finding my feet with this rc boat racing...

I also gave up after two heats...

mikeyscott 04-09-2011 05:23 PM

Indeed v wet hence why my 511 didn't run. Hats of to those that did.

Ballistic greens all round is what I'd normally run.
